How do I tell my family that I make my own decisions?

    PEOPLE
It's 6am at my home, and reading this first thing in the morning without my first cup of coffee yet, but reading this was like getting an instant slap in the face. THIS is why we're here! If your grandmother, or anyone else's relative who is 'planning our future' had accomplished anything of...

Reducing Noise in A Call Center

    PEOPLE
Did you work in Boulder? I was there from 2000 to 2009. I worked a helpdesk for Amtrak account for about 5 years, then went to the printer division which I never really cared for. My group got outsourced to a company called Apex Computer systems (IBM printer division sold to Ricoh). I got...

    Happy Thanksgiving 2015 Fastlane Forum

    OFF-TOPIC
I was planning on driving to Idaho to visit family, but suddenly got several projects from customers, so plans got changed. I’m going to spend the day working at home in my shop. That is, after writing this and sipping a cup of coffee or 2. There’s a light snow falling and I have a pot of...

What’s The Most Unusual (legal) Thing You’ve Done to Make Money?

One Yeah, I was young and dumb. I didn't think it was anything illegal at the time, but it got to where it bothered me just from the nature of misleading people. Even though the guy running this told us he thought the stuff was worth what it cost, I was getting more tired of the way we were...

What’s The Most Unusual (legal) Thing You’ve Done to Make Money?

The MLM thread made me think of this. Once in my mid 20’s between jobs living in the Los Angeles area, I saw an ad in a newspaper for some sales job. I checked it out, and what it was, was some guy who owned a couple vans and had a couple other guys working with him. He bought these sets of...

Almost got sucked into an mlm tonight

    HOT!
LOL...it's sort of like military boot camp. It will help toughen you up mentally if you can endure 8 weeks of it. Once the smoke clears, you leave it behind, change direction and head toward the real world training with stuff that matters!

2016 Fastlane Summit (Official Ticket Sales, Speakers, Etc.)

    MEETUPS
I'm in Colorado (a stone's throw away from Phoenix compared to most), and didn't get up at o-dark-hundred to score a ticket like your friend had to. I would have been shamed to the point of not even coming back to this forum for a month if I didn't at least give it a try!

    Is the Fastlaneforum a distraction?

    MINDSET
I don't consider anything that improves my thought processes, or helps keep me motivated a distraction. That's why I've joined here and quit looking at other forums of questionable value. Oh, and let me add this: How many people who have become members of this forum and made it to the fast...

    Your Focus Determines Your Reality.

I’ve read a few posts here on this forum from students in high school who were given a form to fill out asking them what their goals in life would be once they completed high school. From what I observed, the form was designed to stuff their thinking into society’s mold with choices of what...

    MEETUPS
Mountain standard time. You don't have to worry about daylight savings time which is over, and they don't observe there. I guess they don't like that extra hour of daylight when it's 110 outside in the late afternoon desert sun (but is good for beer sales!).

Thank You MJ DeMarco, Commandment of Time

    OFF-TOPIC
Here we are just a week from Thanksgiving. Time to give thanks to those who are here to share knowledge! At this stage in my life, my business involves driving around my local area to see customers, or going to the post office to deliver and pickup items to repair or drop off the finished...

Thank You MJ DeMarco, Commandment of Time

    OFF-TOPIC
You've just reminded me why I need to go back, re-read your book and ABSORB what you're teaching. I don't need to get derailed off the tracks. I have a thick skull, so re-reading the wisdom contained in your book, along with the other people who've put your experiences to work for them, is...

Thank You MJ DeMarco, Commandment of Time

    OFF-TOPIC
I also knew nothing of the work vs. time concept, or it was just a vague idea until I read MJ's book. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know what it would be like to taste the freedom of self employment which I have a job layoff to thank for. Thanks to MJ, you, and all the others on this...

Who's gonna pay for it? (Why those evil 1% hoarders!)

    HOT!
I dropped cable almost 5 years ago. I'm too busy trying to work my business and gain knowledge to better myself, rather than waste time on TV, so anything I get over the air is more then I need. I don't know why people here get side tracked getting away from the original intent of this post...

    HOT!
Why do I get the feeling sending her to college will be a waste of money rather then an investment? With that mindset, her parents would have had better odds of just giving her the saved money to spend in Las Vegas.

I would like to get her contact information. I'll buy her a copy of of your book and give it to her for FREE on the condition she actually reads it. Then tell her, there's your free damn education!

Educating Customers How to Reduce Service Costs

    PEOPLE
In my business, customers will often question the high cost of repairs. Here's a short video I've made in an attempt to educate my customers, dentists, how to cut their costs on handpiece repairs. Your feedback requested unless you're not interested in watching a somewhat technical video...
