    Interesting New Site: Kindle Scout

    PUBLISHING
Found this yesterday via Producthunt, looks kinda interesting. Amazon has launched a kind of crowd-sourced Kindle publishing arm called 'Kindle Scout'. From what i can see, you submit your book [must be new, unpubbed], readers download a sample and vote it up if they like it: if your book gets...

Why Startups Fail (Hint: It's the #1 Commandment)

    EXECUTION
Sorry to bump this, but per my post above, I actually had some spare hours today and managed to hack up an ebook [epub/mobi/pdf] which includes 77 of the better failed startup essays and articles mentioned above. So now you can just dump it onto your kindle or whatever and enjoy the convenience...

Just Got A New Toy! Need suggestions!!

The way to do that, is to use Facebook's open graph search [start in the search bar at the top of any page]. You plug in all your parameters, example: name, state, age, gender, city, likes, job, hometown, checkins, whatever. Opengraph search uses AND as its search operator, so you'll end up with...

8 Eyewear: From Idea, to Launch, to Growth (And Quitting the Job)

    IDEA
On your wholesale stuff, I think if i remember rightly, [its like 15-20 years ago]...Oakley's wholesale terms went something like this in the UK: You had to initially order something like $2,000-worth to be considered a 'dealer' [I forget whether it was $ amount or min. # of pairs tbh], but...

Why Startups Fail (Hint: It's the #1 Commandment)

    EXECUTION
The original link list of 'startup failure' essays that this study compiled data from can be found here: http://www.cbinsights.com/blog/startup-failure-post-mortem/ There's 101 of them now, but some interesting reading if you get an afternoon spare. If i ever get the time I might hack together...

8 Eyewear: From Idea, to Launch, to Growth (And Quitting the Job)

    IDEA
Video is a good idea :) I sold Oakley to rifle/pistol/shotgun shooters in their early days in the UK [the early 'm-frames'] - they used to send out an m-frame lens to their retailers that had been shot at 10-12 yards with a 12g shotgun, to demonstrate their strength - it did well for them, but...

    Tracking Software For Amazon?

    MARKETING
Why can't you just use your amazon associates tag and send the traffic direct to Amazon? Or did i miss something? If you do this, you'll not only see if the traffic bought your book, but the other stuff bought as well [and earn commission for it]. Assuming of course, that your fiverr traffic is...

    Sleep Paralysis Needs To GO

I had this happen a few times some years ago, maybe 4-5 times I guess at that point I was maybe really tired/stressed out. It was terrifying, I was 'awake' and dreaming I heard someone in my house, footsteps on the stairs...but couldn't move, like i was 'pinned' to the bed, couldn't make a sound...

What's wrong with my Offer? Help me Fix it

    EXECUTION
NP, hope some of it helps. What you could try, so you utilise your book, is give it way on the front end to build a list, then set up a few autoresponder messages that give tips and stuff, but also promote other peoples products. Hopefully this lets you pay or profit off your traffic, and of...

What's wrong with my Offer? Help me Fix it

    EXECUTION
Very crowded niche, Asian and [mostly all] PPV traffic are not going to be helping you here, before you write it off as a fail maybe try better quality traffic. The problem is, for better quality traffic you'll pay more...and with only a $5 product it gives you no room. My 2 cents [and sorry...

How I lost 550$ to Google

    HOT!
To help anyone else not do what the OP did, remember that adwords [search] is live from the moment you give it keywords, enter a bid and make an ad [display will be similarly almost instant on text ads, but a little bit more of a delay]. The search network is automatedly insta-approved so...

How I lost 550$ to Google

    HOT!
Yes they have lots of rules to prevent that. You need a new name, cc, billing address and won't want to log in to that fresh seperate account from your usual IP address. They're good at catching this stuff. It's not worth burning the account over $550, esp when google in this instance has done...

How I lost 550$ to Google

    HOT!
From their perspective it's no more than user error, you didn't pause/stop your campaigns so the platform did it's job and the ads kept running. Chalk it up to experience, and either pay it or lose your adwords account. The account won't have a bearing on your organic search position FYI. I...

Do rich, wealthy, affluent high net-worth people have PERSONAL debt?

    INVESTING
Lots of HNW/big celebs have personal debt, mostly mortgages, car leases. There was a bunch of high profile people's credit reports 'hacked' last year, some interesting reading in there. Who'd have thought Beyonce was late on her mortgage [twice] for example? Others whose full credit reports...
