Progress thread - My metal record store (opened August 1, 2023)
EXECUTIONYeah, my friend sells on Discogs and he has discovered that anyone paying about £10 for a record, is super annoying, but once he gets to his expensive ones, £40-£50+ the complaints melt away (£10 is about $14)- Roli

I'm Making An App With GPT - And it's working!
HOT! IDEAOkey dokey, after a ton of frustration setting up my Play account, I have put set up the monetisation of the app and it is ready to go once I have 12 testers. So that's what I'm doing today. So @Supa and @Moonlanding, if you guys are still up for downloading, please DM me with the same email...- Roli

I'm Making An App With GPT - And it's working!
HOT! IDEASorry that I've taken so long to answer you, I've started a few times but then stopped. I'm going to start one big ADHD thread, however, I am still getting some things together. For now, just don't beat yourself up, the worst thing about ADHD is how panicked it can leave you feeling. That sense...- Roli

Progress thread - My metal record store (opened August 1, 2023)
EXECUTIONAwesome, man! I am not a metal fan at all, but I do appreciate people like yourself who are keeping vinyl alive. Are you on Discogs? Listing stuff could be a bit of a chore but it will give your shop a broader reach. Love it! I wish you the best of luck with this venture.- Roli

Microsoft Hates Us: Have You Moved To Linux? How Is It Over There?
HOT! OFF-TOPICI think Blender is as well. They too are open source and are Python based, so they integrate with Linux pretty smoothly. I think, from this thread and also chatting to GPT, I need to go for Ubuntu/Kubuntu. I've ordered a USB pen drive and will go for the partition option first and then just...- Roli

Microsoft Hates Us: Have You Moved To Linux? How Is It Over There?
HOT! OFF-TOPICI've heard HP can be bad, which would be annoying for my printer. I'm not sure it's worth keeping a partitioned drive though. The cognitive overload is starting to build up, I wish they'd just fix 10.- Roli

Microsoft Hates Us: Have You Moved To Linux? How Is It Over There?
HOT! OFF-TOPICA dongle for my keyboard, a dongle for my mouse. A port for my external hard drive, a port to plug my phone in when I'm coding apps, an HDMI ports for my monitors. I'm not 'most people,' in fact, 'most people' don't exist.- Roli

Microsoft Hates Us: Have You Moved To Linux? How Is It Over There?
HOT! OFF-TOPICFor a multitude of reasons, to name two, security and updates. Windows 10 computers will become more and more vulnerable, seeing as that's millions of machines, it's well worth a scammer writing some ransomeware. Secondly, if an app that I use all the time stops working because of a Windows 10...- Roli

Microsoft Hates Us: Have You Moved To Linux? How Is It Over There?
HOT! OFF-TOPICLet him learn different things, the more he knows the more flexible he'll be. Also, he'll be used to learning new things and of course, his brain is way more adaptable to change than us old farts! Thank you! This is the gold I was looking for when I set this thread up. Kubuntu it is!- Roli

Microsoft Hates Us: Have You Moved To Linux? How Is It Over There?
HOT! OFF-TOPICAs much as it pains me to admit, the '90s ended almost 30 years ago. There isn't a single piece of soft tech from that era that is as good as anything around today. From what I can tell from this thread and the various YouTube vids out there, I won't regret it. But you know what I will regret...- Roli

Why A Few Amazing Ads Sell Like Crazy While So Many Fail
HOT! MARKETINGI think people are being a bit too harsh on you, and I kind of get why. The first part of your OP sounds like an ad, but if you skip ahead (which I did) you get to some real gold (I've upgraded my original 'like' to 'gold'). Essentially you are showing us how to find insights in our chosen...- Roli

The lifestyle, hobbies, and fun thread.
HOT! CHATThey do it by finding older people who look younger. When the first series started they were meant to be about 8 or 9 I think, most of the actors were early teens, some mid-to-late teens who I suppose hadn't hit puberty very hard. By the last episode they had 15-year-olds playing 9-10 and the...- Roli

What do American Immigrants Miss?
IDEAI watched a video about someone from New Jersey and had moved over here, he said the thing he misses most is biscuits and gravy. He then explained what biscuits and gravy is, and I was very surprised. This is why I'm casually wondering if such other things exist that tickle the nostalgia gene.- Roli

Microsoft Hates Us: Have You Moved To Linux? How Is It Over There?
HOT! OFF-TOPICWowzers! Why do you put up with that? If you have experience of Linux, why not just run that instead? Of course it is, but the point is Microsoft have ended all support for Windows 10, meaning as the weeks and months roll by, it gets less and less secure. Windows 11 sounds like another Vista, a...- Roli
