Facts you must accept in order to fully become a rich and powerful bastard in America:

    MINDSET
I think I hear some Lewis Lapham-ness in there. I have to agree somewhat though based on Man's cunning, ruthless, and territorial nature, but I don't think that way is the only way to achieve success in business and especially life in general. My experience has been the exact opposite in fact...

I've had it with the slowlane way of life.

    SLOWLANE
Sounds like you are properly motivated with the inner fire! Get steppin' young brother and good luck, because your observations are 100% correct. Your functioning brain is giving you feedback based on experience, and it ain't lying! There's a thick fog out there and it's all bullshit. If...

Looking for "process" 1st to find an "event"!

That's exactly it right there! Wise words. Ancient samurai proverb "If you cry in the dojo, you'll laugh on the battlefield" - (or something along those lines!)

Looking for "process" 1st to find an "event"!

Absolutely. Anything in my life that I have had success with, business or otherwise, has definitely had a period of "becoming" before it, and it's usually measured in years. There's no quick fix, and if you do get a free lunch and you're not prepared to recieve it, you'll most likely screw it...

Newbie trying to get a start

    REAL ESTATE
I don't really know where in particular to suggest for you but since you mentioned the idea of maybe looking at NJ, then why not just look at other NY areas since you're already there. I don't use a PM company, and don't plan to use one until much, much later into my plan, but that's just me.

I failed again: Lessons Learned and new start

Failure isn't really failure, it's just feedback. But it still hurts and takes some time to heal. I know because I've gone through it and realized later after thinking about what happened, that the failure only exposed the thing that needs to be corrected to be successful in the next attempt...

Newbie trying to get a start

    REAL ESTATE
What about other parts of NY? Upstate NY you could buy plenty with $60k. I own in NJ and as long as you're not buying in a ghost town, and you provide safe, clean, functional housing that's well maintained, you'll not have to worry too much about vacancies for the most part. My places show...

Looking for "process" 1st to find an "event"!

*Small wall of text below* Hey All, I'm not posting to report a liquidation event or anything large scale like that, but I promise I will when that happens! I'm posting because I'm almost through reading TMF for the 2nd time and I'd highly recommend the same for anyone still not clear on what...

(I PM'd this to JasonR but then saw his request to post here...so please disregard PM JasonR, thanks) I'm relatively new to the forum and would like to possibly attend the BnP meeting. As far as presenting goes - I haven't quite hit the fastlane yet myself, and I see there will be some heavy...

HfR, Thanks for opening my eyes to this option for generating income. I never would have thought of writing fiction. I'm working on a non-fiction book (my 1st crack at writing) right now based on my experiences with owning some rental houses, just to get a taste of writing "something". I...

    Money Makes you Happier

    HOT! EXECUTION
Ok...I got it. Here's how we settle it: whoever says money doesn't buy happiness should give all of their money and any future monies to me. I'll act like an escrow account...I promise not to use it for my own enjoyable purposes...really! ;) ;) ;) Then, let a year or two or three go by and...
