    Difference between ENTREPRENEURS and PROPRIETORS

Per Jay Abraham, "A proprietor (as described by Peter Drucker) is a business owner who pretty much adds nothing meaningful to the business category they address. A Mexican restaurant or a deli that does pretty much the same thing much the same way every other one does it---adds little (if...

Thinking about buying a Used Luxury Car

    OFF-TOPIC
I just talked with my local BMW/Mercedes mechanic and he told me to stay away from the BMW 3 and 7 Series, said it requires constant maintenance and to go with a Mercedes or BMW 5 series instead. As soon as I got off the phone I found a '99 BMW 5 series with < 50k miles for $10k.... (EDIT...

Thinking about buying a Used Luxury Car

It looks like the Mercedes C Class and the Lexus IS might be in my price range, but I didn't like any of the Audi's in my price range. Why are BMW's so much more??

Thinking about buying a Used Luxury Car

    OFF-TOPIC
From what I can tell, the E90 didn't come out till '05, which is when they stopped making the E46. With a budget of $10k and wanting a car with < 75k miles, I doubt I can find an E90. I googled 'Vanos' and see that is the name of the engine, but didn't see much about systemic issues with it...

Thinking about buying a Used Luxury Car

    OFF-TOPIC
how much would you estimate? I'm currently in position to be able to afford a $10k car, along with $2k/yr service costs. If I don't buy this, it will be Honda and so the only real difference is $1k/yr. I see a pretty big difference between a 9 year old BMW and a brand new Lamborghini, so this...

Thinking about buying a Used Luxury Car

    OFF-TOPIC
I recently stumbled across an '04 BMW 325i with 64k miles for sale for $9,400. I need to buy a car, and am thinking about spending $8 to $10k. From what I've seen thus far, there's not much of a premium for a luxury vehicle that's 8 years old. Even Ford's, etc are $8k+... My question is...

Can a business be profitable right away?

Service businesses, and (if you know what you are doing) small internet businesses can be profitable right away. Other businesses, no. If you have no experience, and no set idea on what business to do, I would suggest taking a job in the mean time until you get all your ducks in a row.

I don't know what your original post was, but the social encouragement is NOT the most important factor. There's a lot of research that shows that stating your goals out loud IS productive to helping you achieve them. The difference is when you receive social support for vague claims without...

Which logo do you like best?

#212, BY FAR. The other "tag" things aren't obvious, the shopping bags help make the immediate connection to what you are about. It's also the most visually appealing.
