Eskil's Progress Thread: Starting a Supplement Business from Scratch
EXECUTIONWelcome to the forum, Ron. To answer your question about courses - I haven't even looked for any to be honest. But I have learned a ton from just reading lots and lots about various minerals, vitamins, plant medicine, enzymes, and all kinds of things health related. I also subscribe to...- Eskil

My Fastlane idea with test landing pages-honest feedback wanted
IDEAIn addition to what MJ has stated - the first thing that struck me with both of those pages was: "Who is this?" Because - there is no logo or business identity in any shape or form at the top of the page. It just starts with a question / headline, but you have nothing identifying a brand, a...- Eskil

The Dangers of Affiliate Marketing (The Pentamillionaire Story).....
MARKETINGNo you can not compare MJ's business to him being an affiliate. He had full ownership, control, and leverage of a two-sided market business. His service dealt with leads two ways yes - but not like an affiliate. That's like saying the owners of Odesk or Elance are affiliates too...- Eskil

MARKETINGVery good post Shola, and a nice reminder to all affiliates how volatile (or rather, non-existing) their "business model" is.- Eskil

5 Shipping Secrets of Zappos
PEOPLEI always thought free shipping was a no-brainer if you have your own products. Just bake the shipping cost into the cost of your product and add the extra markup to cover it. But I can understand how it can get tougher if you are just reselling other people's products that also can be found...- Eskil

Bill Gates' wise words to spoiled, entitled kids
MINDSETMy father in law sent me this and said he had found it on Facebook. I dunno if it's old or has been posted here before - but nonetheless, these are some good reminders for the young generation: Bill Gates recently gave a Commencement speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and...- Eskil

How to move from online sales into retail
Welcome aboard, jheathco.. Is this the hangover supplement I think it is, with a certain movie licensing angle? :) Maybe not, because I have seen that a few places on the counters of convenience stores already. I am also entering the nutritional space myself, but going a different route than...- Eskil

Can you "steal" an idea that is already out there?
IDEAHow about: Start out by having some good designers make a collection of a range of various designs. Anything from cool, sporty, flashy, gothy, hip, retro, whatever... Prove that you can sell these, and then move on to contact small to medium sized pop-cultural brand names and see if you can get...- Eskil

FLUID vs FIXED
Fluid can be nice sometimes, but for the most part fixed is the way to go - especially when there are large paragraphs of text on a wide screen. Most people on this forum probably have 23++ inch monitors and it's just easier to read a lot of text when it's all more together horizontally. Voted...- Eskil
