How should I do the design process?

    HOT!
Plot twist! I'm working on this project again. Forget all of my excuses. This business follows CENTS very well, so I'm going to do whatever it takes to make it work. If I can execute this, It'll likely get me to my first rest station; free from the scripted life. I started designing a product...

    What's a good audiobook for a 13 yo?

Don't force it on him. For the best result, I think you should let him discover TMF/Unscripted on his own. What I'd do, is find a way to get him interested in self-learning and make sure he has a way to use the internet without the fear of someone seeing his search history. So, grow his...

How should I do the design process?

    HOT!
Not great. To start... engineer silently backed out/disappeared over time, which means I'm on my own again. I also realized that I'm gonna need some funding for this project (over $20,000), and I don't think I can convince anyone to invest that much in me at this age... maybe 16, not 15...

What bad habits have you broken?

    HOT! MINDSET
I became an extreme gamer at like 7 years old, and I completely quit the habit earlier this year. When your goal is to eternally escape the 5:2 prison, quitting habits that are obstacles becomes a pretty obvious and easy decision. This forum has greatly improved my self-control.

What Part of the Process Requires Luck?

What makes it so hard to find a need? So even investors don't have the formula for finding a real need every time?

What Part of the Process Requires Luck?

Why do only a percentage of businesses succeed, even when the founder is a veteran entrepreneur? It seems like when you fill a need for customers, you're set, so I don't really know how any part of business is luck-based. I want to know which part of the process of building a business requires...

22 year old in college with a million dollar business. Ask me anything!

    NOTABLE! SOCIAL MEDIA
Yeah, that sucks, I guess we might never know what happened.

What, was he not really a millionaire? Did he not send the mods proof?

My opinion of the Amazon Marketplace

    NOTABLE!
I don't mean that literally but a wallet is relatively easy to make.

My opinion of the Amazon Marketplace

    NOTABLE!
Yes, but anyone can make an ostrich wallet. I think there are still plenty of one-product opportunities for products that require an engineer or months/years of work to design. Entry barrier, as @amp0193 said.

What would Earth be like if everyone were millionaires? (NOT VIA INFLATION)

    HOT!
How did everyone innovate without anyone to do the sheep jobs for them?

    Supply and Demand

So what created the high demand was the consumers' desire for a more immersive way to watch football, and the low supply of products to fill their desire was caused by something, x? So what isn't natural about this imbalance? Oh wait, so are imbalances themselves unnatural in capitalism? So...

    Supply and Demand

But you say that a low supply with a high demand only occurs unnaturally. There is a high demand for a fully functional $10 4k TV, but there is a very low supply. What is unnatural about this?

    Supply and Demand

How did the iPhone create its own demand? Isn't it that there was an unsaid demand for a device with the functions of an iPhone (many capabilities, a camera, simplicity, etc.), which was filled by Apple? If I created a portal, I would be supplying the demand for faster travel. I wouldn't be...

How should I do the design process?

    HOT!
OH YEAH, forgot to tell you guys how it went. So I met up with the engineer and talked to him about what he could do, what he has done, blah blah. In the end, he said that he would design the product be done in about a week. We still haven't really talked about payment, but I'm pretty sure...

How should I do the design process?

    HOT!
I was planning to have it made overseas because it's kind of a simple product, it's just made of plastic and a little metal. It is sort of large though. When you say I need a comprehensive plan, do you mean a "business plan", like an official one? I don't have any prototypes, patents, or...

    Just Sad...

19:50 "Money is a yardstick to show (how much value you're creating)...... If you're running a business and you're not making money, that means you're not creating value. The market is telling you to stop. But if you can organize labor, land, and capital, and make a profit, the profit tells you...

    PERSPECTIVE

Wow, the average person spends the first 55 or so years of their life doing things they don’t like. Once they’re “free”, they have 10 years of life left to sit in their house and rot because they’re too unhealthy to do anything else... Thanks for the motivation booster.

How should I do the design process?

    HOT!
Will do, hopefully that book combined with conversations with engineers will help me understand how things are efficiently taken from idea to market.
