    Which website builder to use?

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
For the sake of validating your idea, I wouldn't build a custom solution. Instead, I would do everything manual, by hand (if that's possible for your idea). So e.g. just build 2 separate sites with a sign up form but don't offer anything else. If someone wants to find a "contractor", they email...

    Do you need a FTE?

    MINDSET FTE
There are generally two sides involved in changing your thoughts and behaviors: 1. by looking at things from a scarcity mindset. 2. looking at things from a growth mindset. The difference is this: A scarcity mindset pushes you to do something when things aren't going well. You change your...

17yo ex Professional Gamer looking to go Fastlane

I don't think it works that way... There's a difference between failing in your head and failing in the real world. Just failing in your head won't teach you the skills you need in the real world to succeed. Other than that, keep going!

    Diving Into Web Design

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
I was bored and quickly edited the site on the fly. Just a quick glimpse on what I meant in my last post. Obviously, this is just a quick example. You are using way to many fonts on the site (at least 3 or 4 from what I've seen). Pick just one for the beginning and play with the font-weight...

    Diving Into Web Design

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Quick thoughts after I've looked at the "home" site: - The height of the header section is way too big. There's too much "whitespace". - The menu items in the header are too small. Increase the font size. - The resolution of the 2 images (people and building) is way too small thus everything is...

Lex DeVille's 2019-22 Step-By-Step Upwork Tutorial for Brokeass Bootstrap Beginners Who Need Cash Now!

    NOTABLE! SIDE HUSTLE
Thank you, Lex, for this thread! Quick question as I know you were in the same position: I was already on Upwork but deleted my account... if I'm going to sign up again that's against their terms of services... How would you try to solve this problem? Signing up again, wait for the ban and...

My Life Is a Mess -- And there's no "motivation"

    INTRO
Last night, I hopped into my car to deliver my letters to the companies. I didn't want to wait any longer to bring it to the post office the next day because I've wasted so much time in the past. On top of that, I didn't want to purchase any stamps. Didn't work out so well... the first 3 post...

My Life Is a Mess -- And there's no "motivation"

    INTRO
So today I made my goal to write 5 more sales letters till 05:00pm for selling websites. I customized every letter and finished all of them by 03:30pm. Now I put them in envelopes and deliver it to the companies. I also "upsold" my recurrent client an additional feature for $148 (on top of the...

My Life Is a Mess -- And there's no "motivation"

    INTRO
Thanks to everyone. You, guys, are amazing! Some people already pointed out what I found out as well the last few month/year. My lack of self-discipline. For that reason, I'm going to a boxing club 5 times a week since 1.5 years. I'm doing boxing for 10 years now but always had some weeks or...

My Life Is a Mess -- And there's no "motivation"

    INTRO
Thank you! You are TOTALLY right in everything you said! I don't have a job... This "freelancing" thing offered me excuses to sit in my room and doing nothing. That's spot on what you said there. To be honest, I hate doing websites and only did it in the past (on Upwork) to get a little bit...

My Life Is a Mess -- And there's no "motivation"

    INTRO
Hey! This is my 2nd intro... but it's the "real one." A few years ago, I created an intro thread, stating that I want to pursue a business and how driven I was to do something with my life. At that time, I did an apprenticeship and wanted to start my own (web design) business. Fast forward a...

Starting my own Web Design company

    WEB/DIGITAL
I'd go for the 2nd one. The first one seems out of alignment- because of the left space of the bar. The 3rd one is to "chaotic." And the last one reminds me of Pokemon.... This is just my consumer view. I've got no experience with branding, whatsoever.

    Creating a Notes App

    EXECUTION
That's not true. You can subscribe to Firebase and get informed when new data is added or changed. It's true that on the first run you get all the data. But when you're using a "special" Firebase method you can retrieve data with specific attributes. To only get the new data, your app needs to...

    Creating a Notes App

    EXECUTION
Just read your thread. Using Firebase doesn't imply that you need to fetch all the data at once. You cold fetch the data once and then store a snapshot on the phone. Your app then could subscribe to Firebase to get informed when there's a new note/data available. When there's new data it get...
