How to Recreate an Elite Ivy-League MBA Education at Home

Sorry about that, you covered a lot of material and I apologize if I minimized it... that wasn't my intention. Hopefully others will catch all that you intended to say, without missing any of it. I agree it's a valuable thread with some great discussion. Thanks for launching it!

YES!!!! In fact you are a GREAT example and inspiration for me about how that can work!

Caroline, I and some of the other posters here have been pretty hard on Instagram as the spot for couch potatoes. How do you and your friends use it? It is for everyday updates on life, or is there pressure to try put up something spectacular that will make everyone "ooh and ah" and get jealous?

I wasn't trying to assign the right dollar value to those features... just pointing them out. Joel, are you seeing potential $35k value in the networking and on-campus experience? Or is that too high a price for what you'd likely get?

I hope "posting on forums yielded 0 fruit" doesn't apply to here :smile2: So it's just a drop-in replacement for the connection to MySQL? No need to revise queries, etc., just to give it the connection string in the config file? 8 GB SSD should be plenty for the initial batch of demos and...

You're welcome. At any age, there's a minority of people who think in entrepreneurial, Fastlane terms, and who care about building process and strategy to help them get there. Even a lot of adults already in business or management, and a lot of MBA students, don't have that mindset. How much...

Awesome! "Please help me buy more from you" is the best thing for anyone to hear from a customer! That's very helpful. I need to analyze my pipeline, not in terms of the money, but in terms of what quality and quantity of business relationships would make it the natural step to move forward...

Thanks Allan. I've seen a lot of similar offers here, and it seems a real commodity type of business. Definitely looking to make a very different kind of offer, in a very different kind of way, than these pitches you keep getting.

You might also be able to offer some after-hours support services to other web developers, so their clients have someone who can check if the server needs to be rebooted at 3 am or whatever. (I haven't done an analysis of this premise, it's just something that happened to come to mind.)

From what you're all saying, it sounds like Instagram is the ultimate Team Consumer site. The online wish book all that most users would like to own and experience... without any work, if Santa would drop it off for them. But walking to the chimney is too much work, just put the gifts right in...

Just overheard an entire Kiyoski based MLM pitch. Wow, that was painful.

I was sitting by myself, sipping a soda at McDonald's, typing up some notes and emails on the laptop. A guy, maybe 40-something, came by to chat. He asked how I like the Mac (the computer, not the hamburger). He started with the Mac long ago and did graphics on it. Oh, I asked, are you are a...

Brilliant, you're already preventing any one person other than you from controlling 100% of your work time and your income. This time, if either "the mentorship job" or "the bill paying job" has something as unpleasant as Mr. You're Not On The Schedule So I'll Fire You, you can be the one to...

I'm concerned that you keep talking about this. Have you asked your Dr. to see if there's a physical cause of the really poor concentration?

You have a placeholder tag in the html such as a span or div, and javascript that makes an ajax call to populate the data from the api when the page is loaded? Am I on the right track here? Love that analogy! Seems there's no easier job than taking the money of someone who's in Vegas with a...

Absolutely! The requirements list is only a wish list. Sometimes the requirements are stacked up so that only the person they already decided to hire, could ever meet them... but they can pretend that they did a search and "had to" hire that person. For example, I'm probably the only person...

Thanks. It looked like I'll also need an S3 bucket to store the static info from the web site? Or does that only apply if you need scalability through using a CDN? I saw some articles on setting up SSH for remote desktop access to the EC2 instance. The rest, including assigning different...
