    Starting a Fashion Brand

Oh thank you! I haven't upgraded to Insiders yet. When I do, I'll look for you!

Just overheard an entire Kiyoski based MLM pitch. Wow, that was painful.

Haha! I didn't even notice that confusion until you pointed it out. Sorry about that. I edited the initial post to clarify the "excuse to chat" was the computer, not the food.

They're exactly the same in the way that Frisbee Golf and shopping at the grocery store are exactly the same, because you put stuff into baskets. Franchising takes the design, specifications and techniques of a business. These are licensed to one business owner at a time, who can actually make...

What if I don't have a have a meaning and purpose?

    MINDSET
So more specifically, it would be worded something like, "be really active having lots of new experiences, most of them things that physically push me to discover and exceed my limits." I might be a little off on what this means to you. The point is that the more specific you can get, the...

Bloomer 2.0, hopefully a little less late this time

    EXECUTION
So it's Fox style web design for now Rob, I'm going through your posts again, and your YouTube channel. Again I have to say, thank you so much for your very detailed and forthright look at exactly what went into your success. I feel I made the right choice picking you as my role model and...

Bloomer 2.0, hopefully a little less late this time

    EXECUTION
I've now learned enough from my time on the forum, to now have a revised plan of action for execution on a weekly basis. Thanks again, MJ, for your own depth of insight and compelling writing in superb books that attracted this amazing community. I thank eliquid for his amazing Software as a...

Wait for that ‘homerun’ idea or start taking swings?

    IDEA
Especially if you don't say anything at all about what options you see, what are your own criteria and values, what resources do you have now, etc. Other than Babe Ruth, most home run hitters hit many singles, by swinging for the fences just about every time. Unless one of your ideas is so...

    Starting a Fashion Brand

I took a quick look to see if you have a progress thread about that here, and didn't see one. I don't have personal experience with the clothing industry. It would be educational to get to see someone else's entrepreneurial journey in that field. If you discuss that there, I'd be interested...

The Lean Startup. Worth the read?

I wouldn't recommend Lean Startup as a first business book. It can be a good third or fourth business book, after MJ's. And maybe also something like Blue Ocean Strategy before this one, if you need more ideas about how to disassemble and reassemble an offer to increase value. I'd recommend...

    Verifying faked social media posts

    MARKETING SOCIAL MEDIA
Seems completely pointless to me. Your "verification screenshot" picture could be photoshopped too. Unless a Tweet is signed by a public key, only Twitter can validate it. Even if you could somehow validate social media posts made by someone else, I have no idea who would want to pay for that...

Just overheard an entire Kiyoski based MLM pitch. Wow, that was painful.

I thought about doing that, but the only way to do that would have been a jerk who walked in to someone else's conversation, interrupted it and told off the "recruiter." I didn't have any idea of what I could say that would enlighten the "prospect" in that circumstance. Thank you for getting...

What if I don't have a have a meaning and purpose?

    MINDSET
Viktor Frankl wrote the book "Man's Search for Meaning" about his experiences in a wartime concentration camp, after he'd lost his family, health, home, belongings, the manuscript to his first book with all his research of many years, and any hope of an end of the war or of rescue. Many people...

Leasing an office vs working from home

If you took checks that would at least get you out to the bank once a day ;)

I cocked-up despite reading TMF 3 times! Any advice?

    HOT!
I haven't seen that book. Dan Kennedy has a book on marketing to the affluent. Excellent book and very readable. Come join us in the copywriting forum. There's an initial group of books to review but I'd love to see that thread, or another one, continue with further marketing books.

    Coping with serious disabilities?

    HOT! MINDSET
Thanks so much for your compassionate post from your own experience. I hope that you get whatever help minimizes the disruption of the seizures. One of the things that drew me to MJ's Fastlane mindset, is that it's possible to create a business where we're paid well for our good hours, even...

The first step is admitting I have a problem

    INTRO
Thanks so much for joining the forum, Nat (is that your name?). Some of the best writers and even public speakers I know are introverts. They don't intrude with their ideas. But when they have thought it over and they really do have something worth sharing, that's when they speak up... and...

I cocked-up despite reading TMF 3 times! Any advice?

    HOT!
Yes. There's a free pdf version, scanned but full of typos. If you have a hard time finding it, let me know. I just finished a detailed review of it in the 30 day copywriting challenge thread. That's a great idea, a shirt or sweatshirt that would make people do a doubletake about whether...

My Dilemma: Stay at Current Job/Or Take New Job at Startup

    MINDSET
Glad I could help. Sounds good and I look forward to your posts about how you'll use your flexible time to start your own thing! It never hurts to tell the recruiter, "Hmm that might work. I don't know for sure if it would be a great job for me until I get to talk to them, so sure, go ahead...

Too old to be an entrepreneur, a little late in the game at 35? I was sick for long time.

    HOT!
Man you are fortunate that what you love and study for free, is what many people get paid to deal with. You have got to get yourself into an environment where these topics are the focus of conversation throughout the work day! Every medium size town has companies that deal with this, plus...

Copywriting Challenge May 2018 (Join me)

    EXECUTION
Great question. Study skills are skills we can learn, just like anything else. The advantage is, they make it easier to learn anything else. I'd already read or skimmed most of these copywriting books. So for this current challenge, I am going through each page with a notebook handy. I'm...
