No as a matter of fact you did not post word for word. Here is a direct copy and paste from the article of their conclusions. “On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of...

Because @Rivoli is intent on making absurd arguments. He is saying if anyone has any medical condition and dies with corona virus pneumonia we should blame the medical condition not the pneumonia. Let’s ignore the fact that they would have lived years and decades had they not gotten pneumonia...

Correct on that for sure. The media is not honest in their portrayal of things. You are 100% correct, ample evidence to prove this. However, I do want to point out the confirmation bias. He said there was a huge death toll coming...some people reject that analysis...then he remodels his data...

Interesting read, certainly there will be revisions of initial assumptions, revisions of revisions, on and on...Some points to pointer I just want to point out. They say ICU's will not be over run, but how do they account for the countries like China and Italy and Spain where they have? They...

This is purely anecdotal, but some interesting personal observations I have made. I actually spent the first half of my medical career as a plastic surgeon, but I also had a business and the two interfered, that's how I ended up in medical imaging (i.e. much more flexible kinder lifestyle)...

Had a great discussion with @ChrisV yesterday. Also wanted to thank all of the people on this board for all their insights and contributions on the Wuhan virus thread. It’s been invaluable in helping shape the direction and dicussion in our podcast. And of course thanks to the many many...

I haven’t, but a policy like that is actually understandable for a lot of reasons, not saying right or wrong, just understandable. In a code situation your going to be spreading covid all over the room and in the air. Personnel have a hard time getting adequately protected, it takes some time...

You have very valid points, and these are things we need to consider. One of the hard things is that deaths be covid are what we would term deterministic, deaths by all these other things are stochastic. The problem with stochastic causes of death is that the numbers are never clear and it’s...

I fully support your argument from all sides. so long as those who leave work are not propped up by the gov financially and those that get sick, have huge hospital bills, and permanent disability don’t come back asking for money because they can’t work. I believe in taking personal...

A genuine MASSIVE coronavirus business idea/need.

Thats not unexpected. A doctor or staff in an office wearing a mask is no different than the general public. They are only wearing a mask and not all the additional protective layers. Once they take off the mask, they are walking around with the contagion all over their body. Wearing a mask and...

A genuine MASSIVE coronavirus business idea/need.

read my post #10. The effectiveness of mask protection is related to comprehensive whole body protection. Wearing a mask but nothing else, you will get contaminated everywhere else on your body. Take off the mask, eat, touch your face, you are highly likely to get infected anyway. That’s...

I just had a crazy thought. If you were to look at families where all 4 people had the infection, all at once or over time, we would expect the following. If you had a family of 4, father in 50’s, mother in 40’s, and two teenage kids, based on the numbers we have so far there would be a 2.1%...

And @WillHurtDontCare things are very preliminary at the moment. I’m gonna be frank with you that data is very limited at the moment so it’s very hard to make any concrete statements. here is one pertinent study. Numbers are small but they did not find any maternal fetal spread of covid...

14 days is being a misused figure for lots of things that aren’t applicable. 14 days is the number of days with a known or possible exposure that someone has to quarantine to see if they do become positive. It’s an alternative to lab tests. After 14 days if they have zero symptoms they resume...

Don’t know the math you used. But usually it takes 14-18 days before people get into trouble. Then if they are ventilated typically require 20 days on ventilator. Did you factor that into your model? If not, what would be your revised estimates.
