    Saying Hello

    INTRO
Welcome Renji! Glad to have you here. Yup, it's a good move to get some experience from a startup job, while building on that lean idea. You might want to keep an eye on your startup responsibilities though. As the firm grows, you might end up wearing more hats than you wanted to in the...

    Hey everyone

    INTRO
Hi @Kayazuko, thanks for sharing! While I agree parents may have some obsolete ideas, yet I think you could still pick up some fundamental principles from them like discipline and work ethics from them. After all, they are still your elders. Good parents will always want their children to be...

Lex DeVille's - Journey To Doctor

    HOT! EXECUTION
I find this weird as well. In my university, you could join any club you wanted, regardless of your department. And certain business units like Social Entrepreneurship and Experiential Learning (in my university) also allowed non-business students to take them. In my investment club, there were...

Lex DeVille's - Journey To Doctor

    HOT! EXECUTION
Great that you are keeping the forums alive! Yup, that's another sneaky way to catch the prof's attention. As for the discussion forum for my Finance and Data units on Moodle... I tried to post some pointers, especially on debugging R and summaries of class reads, but gave that up after...

Fastlaners and future-fastlaners, how are you doing?

    INTRO
Well, I went there only for a few weeks, so I'll only share some snippets. I went there in December- around Summer. Summer there is not very hot (at least for Asians like me), but apparently around as early as 5-6am, the sun is already up, and around 6-7pm-ish, nightfall descents...

Fastlaners and future-fastlaners, how are you doing?

    INTRO
Welcome! Thanks for coming by. Yup, hope you can find new lessons from TFLF as well. I've been to NZ's South Island before. Probably one of the most picturesque and beautiful places to visit. Lots of nature and wild flowers everywhere on the roads. And the occasional rabbit. At that time, I...

Yes, they do improve. You can keep a better eye on how consistent you are. You can also noticed quickly if something is wrong- and what might have disrupted your consistent flow of habits. As to the what, I would suggest keeping a separate diary to mark down what may have been hitting your...

    MINDSET
Haha...thanks for the sharing! TBH, Names all are new to me though, except Jess Teong . If I'm not wrong, she was the producer behind 'The Kid from the Big Apple' https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5679887/ I only went as far as to watch the second film in that series...a good tale on how a young...

Ocean Man's Journey To Earning A Bachelor's Degree

    HOT! EXECUTION
Great that you've set on a path! I was worried and wondering what you'd do next... Great arrangement to find a college that gives you credits for some work time. It's a significant short-cut of sorts that I'm disappointed I don't have here in Malaysia. Well, if you can run for start-up...

Technology, Productivity Hacks, Tips and Tricks

    HOT! MINDSET
This is F*cking useful to edit ARFF files for Weka and other data mining tools. I've saved oodles of time with Notepad++ for initial data pre-processing, while my other college mates wasted time with Excel labour. Some recent hacks I've found? Excel KuTools add-in to automate many functions...

Excuse the slight thread derail... Woah! You've stayed in Malaysia before? How long? As for Perak, for those who hate cities, it's a great place. Not too urbanised, not too rural, just right. It has been earmarked as one of the best retirement places in Asia though, so you might run into more...

    Tears of joy

    EXECUTION
Thanks for the reminder and sharing! Sometimes when I donate cash, I worry, 'Is this organisation gonna use my dollars well to help someone?' Then I realise there's more I could have done. I've had quite many family squabbles these few weeks, and I've come to realise that much of it would...

    What`s your market research process?

    EXECUTION
I think by cart, it means whether the actual purchasing step works smoothly. I've had a few buy pages give up on me before, as it was either too buggy, slow or crowded. Or didn't have a wide range of payment options (credit card, Paypal, etc) And that meant I didn't buy from there. Make sure...

No. From Perak, the nearby state. KL is just where I study and do much of my networking. 2.59-1.66 times more than a 21 years old? Nah...

feel like beeing pulled in different directions at the same time, all the time

    MINDSET
Well, there's no black and white solution here. Still, I would focus on one thing alone, if I believed it could give me tremendous life-changing results, or even save my life. Yet, there's other things like family and spirituality you cannot ignore, no matter how busy you are. I've been...

Lex DeVille's - I Deleted My Upwork Account...

    NOTABLE! SIDE HUSTLE
A recent Upwork email update: Curiously, Upwork has been catering more towards allowing freelancers to take on clients from outside the platform. They have also opened Direct Contracts, which allows you to collect payments from non-Upwork clients, at a flat 3.4% fee (haven't tried it though)...

Random Chat, Thoughts, Posts, and/or Rants Thread

    HOT! CHAT
Urban planning is still a bazillion-dollar opportunity waiting for disruption. I detest the overbuilding of roads that encourage more traffic jams. I shall never enjoy hot cars, like youngsters typically do, because the roads have made driving a miserable experience for me.

You may be surprised how much I agree with your paragraph, even as a current freelancer. While freelancing for me has taught me a bunch of skills and stuff, it's an everyday battle to deal with clients who put too much dependence on you. Many nights I wonder if I have to dump X client, write Y...
