Why math and physics won't take you far with your business.

As a complete math nerd, the actual math is not usually directly applicable. It's the problem solving ability that comes with it. A person without the skills to read and write has no skill because they can't effectively communicate. A person without problem solving skills has no skill because...

Is the Fastlane for "young guys" only?

    EXECUTION
It's never to old to start. Especially when it's about rapidly reaching your goals of wealth and freedom. What you'll notice about a lot of us youngster's here is that we openly admit to how naive, inexperienced, and empty we are when it comes to a lot of stuff! That's exactly why were here...

    Surgeries!

Everyone's had one! What's your story? A little of two years ago, I ruptured 3 discs in my lower back. Before that, I was a lean 195 pound muscle machine. I ran 5 miles a day from the time I hit high school till the time I left my first year of college. As a freshman, I made it on to...

Is 8,000 a lot of money?

Thanks! I'm not too concerned about it really. I only took a software job to gain experience in the field so I could start my own business. I'm not one of those "pay someone else to do it" types unless I have enough knowledge to do it myself and just need more manpower behind it. If I fail...

Is 8,000 a lot of money?

30 hours a week vs 70 hours a week will be a determining factor. I'd rather focus on my own stuff and tap into savings than spend time solving the problems of others. ohhh and with software jobs, that 40 hour week can quickly turn into 50-60 with no additional pay.

Is 8,000 a lot of money?

Just changed direction this week... But the actual true cost of assets will be around $10k, and the rest is to pay the bills while I work my freaking butt off. ^_^

Is 8,000 a lot of money?

Doooooo iitttttt. I don't think $8k is a lot at all? If you're starting a product, the price of the prototypes and initial distribution will most definitely be more than $8,000. I have $35k for my startup and I consider spending into that for expenses while not receiving income part of the...

Yup! That's why I love this forum, great to not be around that employee mentality. I'll try and go look for it. And I knowww I hateee recruiters. When I was applying for my first software job I learned a lot of about the recruiting process. Every single recruiter knew absolutely...

First mobile app published to the market

    SAAS / APPS WEB/DIGITAL
747 installs, #140 on the top new free! A little insight: My eCPM right now is at about $.68. That's $.68 per 1000 ads displayed. To make $68, I need to display 100,000 ads. To make $6,800, that would be 10,000,000 ads. 10,000,000 ads / 30 days in a month would be about 333,333 ads...

    Super ironic ITT tech commercial

    FUNNY
Just saw an ITT Tech commercial of a girl talking about her experience. She now has a job as a recruiter at a large company. The first thing she looks for is "educational experience," and she prides herself in all she now knows about entrepreneurship from her schooling... Although she has a...

Mindset: "Quiet Wealth". A thing of the past?

    HOT! MINDSET
I just remembered this! This thread also reminds me of what I call "wantrapreneur's." Not only do they whip out the whambulence at every bump in the road, they also are people who are entrepreneurs because they want the flash. When you talk to a wantrapreneur about their business, there is...

    The $10 Startup

Sweet, debt free is the way to go. Ya, I agree that it doesn't hurt to just put it out there. I also probably sound like the exact person I used to hate haha. I used to ask some pretty crazy questions... and usually ended up getting even more crazier answers. You too man! Goodluck!

    Excited about a new beginning

Ya of course. The model we both started with was to produce free games quickly and efficiently with a target goal of releasing a game every 2-3 weeks. I just released my first one (and I am sure my games would improve over time), but he had released four before he changed his model. The idea...

    The $10 Startup

A YouTube presence is free, as well as the other's mentioned with having a myspace or some of the other social networking sites. As you are broke in college, chances are everyone else is broke too! I don't think it's likely that a college student will be able to pay between $100 to $600 and...

"'Shocking' That Startups Are IGNORING A $500b Market"

There is! Once I get a site up with a soft launch I'll be posting more details about it. There are three groups who's pain points we're looking to solve: #1 A passive group who's affection and approval is key to success (Easy sell, pitched, sold and thanked) #2 An active group who stands to...
