The Secret/Law Of Attraction. Anyone believe in it?

    RANT
I have observed that many believe LOA and Think and Grow Rich merely say thinking about something will make it happen. These people completely miss that action must be taken. LOA clearly states that you must take action and prepare yourself. Napoleon Hill was even more adamant about the...

    I've Read UNSCRIPTED!

    GOLD! HOT!
One good thing about an hour and half commute (one way)...plenty of time to listen to books and I just finished listening to Unscripted! So many years I've thought that wealth was kept out of the hands of regular folks by secret societies of the rich. Thanks to MJ, I now realize I've been...

What if you already know enough?

    NOTABLE!
This thread got me to thinking. Why are so many people afraid to try? When we were really young we'd dive right in to trying new things. Did school take that out of us? Did an education system that rewards "right" answers and shames "wrong" answers make us afraid to try? Does our school...

What one year on this forum can do

    GOLD! MINDSET
Wow - I can't believe how fortunate I was to see and read this thread. There's so much great history and info on this forum. If I'm reading the dates right, this thread was started in 2012? Here I am in 2019, a noob, and finding an awesome thread. thanks all.

What if you already know enough?

    NOTABLE!
Great thread Andy - thanks for kicking it off. For what little it's worth, I agree with your position. Research is important, but at some point one must do something to really learn. For instance, I recently started a YouTube channel. First it was watching various types of YouTube channels...

Thanks for posting the food industry info. My wife went to culinary school after retiring from the Navy. We've been looking for ways to scale her knowledge. Could be interesting.

Nothing to take wrong, so no worries. I retired in 2008 and enjoy having the assurance of a military retirement. But even that can be taken away - Control. That retired income allows me to fail - something I've proven very good at. But each time, I learn more.

Thanks MJ! I wouldn't trade my 25 years in uniform for anything. Of the many things I took away from those years is that excuses don't amount to jack. Do it right and you live. Do it wrong and you - maybe others - die. I failed owning a couple rentals because of my mistakes. I failed...

Sold business for several $million - now a family business?

    MINDSET
I've experienced two family biz as a non-fam member. One sucked hugely. Family members not doing their jobs, get paid way more, etc. The other was great. In fact, the son was better at the biz than his dad who started it. The difference was that the son had to work his way up from the...

    Introducing myself

    INTRO
I believe you are spot on. Even MJ had jobs :smile2: That's where we can learn and get ideas. The danger - and yes I fell into this trap - is when we get so comfortable with the pay check that we stop pursuing our dreams. I say all this as a slow lane driver who sees the fast lane but hasn't...

    INTRO
I'm in Florida as well, JAX. But if you read my intro you'll see I'm an old fart trying to recover from too many years in the fast lane. You have some awesome skills and should find great success if you can tie them together. I'm still working on a pic. My ugly mug would just scare people...
