Anyone with experience selling software to organisations?
Thanks for the response, yeah sorry if my question wasn't very clear, I'm just looking for general advice about this. A 12-month subscription licence sounds most likely option I will go with. $250K is a lot! How do you determine how much to charge the company? Or do you let them determine the...- Singularity73

Anyone with experience selling software to organisations?
Yeah I'm not sure how I'd ensure they don't tamper with it.. I will have a look into licencing Node software to figure out how to do it securely.- Singularity73

Anyone with experience selling software to organisations?
Thanks for the advice Simon. Got some more questions :wideyed: 1). Will I have to find a lawyer to help me create the license agreement? If so, any advice how you find lawyers who aren't super expensive, I'm a student with little money... 2). Is it okay to just give them the software code and...- Singularity73

Anyone with experience selling software to organisations?
Hi, Someone has approached me from a large organisation and asking about using my web application in a corporate setting. They want to be able to use it having the data stored within the organisation so they can use proprietary content in the app. I was thinking of selling a copy of the...- Singularity73

How do I stay motivated at university?
HOT! MINDSETWow that is interesting. Learning how to learn is super important, especially since technology changes so quickly! Luckily I love learning new things, BUT not the way you learn at university where there is less practicality and most of it is sitting in a lecture. I think learning by doing is...- Singularity73

How do I stay motivated at university?
HOT! MINDSETThanks for the advice. What you're doing is pretty awesome. It is a really good idea to learn the content beforehand, but man, I just wanna work on my side projects! Last year I didn't have as much going on with projects and stuff so I was reviewing lectures as soon as I could afterwards. I...- Singularity73

How do I stay motivated at university?
HOT! MINDSETHmm I'm not sure if I could handle doing freelance at the same time as university to be honest haha there's already a pretty high workload and always at least one coursework deadline looming. I am working on a web application which I hope to turn profitable so that could potentially help if it...- Singularity73

How do I stay motivated at university?
HOT! MINDSETI'm in the UK and I don't think we have these. Also btw a bachelors degree here is 3 years, rather than 4 in the US. I'm enrolled on a 4 year course though, because of the year in industry. Yeah all the programming languages I know are self-taught from sites like CodeAcademy and Udemy, they're...- Singularity73

How do I stay motivated at university?
HOT! MINDSETI'm at the start of my second year, out of 4. For my third year I'm doing an optional year in industry where I go on a paid 9-12 month placement in a company. Not 100% sure about this anymore though, as I kind of want to graduate as soon as possible. I can also imagine really not wanting to go...- Singularity73

How do I stay motivated at university?
HOT! MINDSETCompletely agree with what you say, the grind is real and I'm starting to embrace that now. Complaining won't help anything. I've been meaning to start a blog for ages! I just can't think of a niche to start writing about so I haven't made any progress. I mainly want to do it as I've heard it...- Singularity73

How do I stay motivated at university?
HOT! MINDSETAbsolutely, I understand this. Which is why I kind of regret going to uni and getting into debt from it when it wasn't really necessary. But I think it's too late now, and as others have pointed out there are lots of opportunities at uni. Haha I have Tesla as my profile as I love Tesla, the...- Singularity73

How do I stay motivated at university?
HOT! MINDSETExcellent post, thanks! It does sound like a good idea to hang out with other students who are doing different things, basically all my friends also study computer science haha  Might be a bit tricky with workload being so high currently but I will do my best. I might sound a bit stupid...- Singularity73
