What has been GOOD about quarantine/corona for you?

    HOT! EXECUTION
Well, I got married.... ;) (I'm the one in the dress) Beyond that, I've learned more about where my skills really lie. I'm actually BAD at daily management, mostly because I hate it so much. I ran into an old consulting client (one I had taken from dissolving the company to a $3M in revenue)...

Anyone learning something useful in quarantine?

    HOT!
I am building the Fort Knox of chicken coops. One of the top 5 most horrifying and disgusting times in my life was helping a friend after a pack of raccoons devastated her coop and left 32 carcasses in various degrees of dismembered bloody pieces. Horror movies got nothing on that mess. So, yes...

Master Gardener course, completed: I knew 95% of it already; free RE Wholesale course, completed: very stupid, common sense stuff; formerly $997, currently free, worth maybe $5 Writing for Dollars course, in process since last fall; reworking it from the beginning, as writing seems to be all I'm...

Anyone got experience inventing a new polymer/material? Material Science & Engineering

Yes - and there's still plenty of attendant Fastlane businesses that surround the industry. I've run a micro business for 10 years that sells 25mu optical needles to yeast geneticists. It's just a matter of scale, which is what I'm doing now, so that $300/mo income has a couple of more zeros on it.

Never been good with money..like ever!

I'm adding a precursor to all of this, for people who might be reading this and not quite at your income level yet.... If you don't have steady income, get it (and take anything if you're really struggling). If the income isn't enough, get a tangible skill that will get you a better income...

Anyone got experience inventing a new polymer/material? Material Science & Engineering

what outcome do you want? full production, or a starting point? there's probably a reason the big guys haven't done it yet, and that's that the market isn't big enough to make it profitable for them. It may be profitable for you, though. I second the freelancer idea! And, I'm intrigued. It's...

The concept of VALUE - a frustrated outlook.

    MINDSET RANT
Thanks for asking about this! I struggled with this too. I have a chemistry degree, and live in the Pacific Northwest - I could sell filtration systems for wineries and marijuana grows in a heartbeat. But I won't. That's the line I decided to draw, and I'm deeply aware of my responsibility in...

So, Jordan Peterson just checked into rehab.

    OFF-TOPIC
I take clonazepam as an anti-seizure med. I said 'isn't it really addictive?' and the neurologist laughed and said 'well, you'll be on it the rest of your life anyway...!' Haha. My liver isn't too happy either. I tried going off it once, and it's ... unpleasant. plus, you know, seizures. But...

Protect Your Back! The Best Non-Business Book You'll Ever Buy

    HEALTH
I started out using a tall chair to lean against, but gave that up after a couple of months. I haven't had a chair for years now. I do have a nice thick mat to stand on. My back pain went away in 3 days.

I’m a software developer in need of something to build

Here's something I need: a CRM with multiple pipelines for different partners, since I'm a multichannel sales rep. Here's the rub: I want it color-coded. Apparently that's too hard. I'm color blind, so I don't even need all the colors, but it's still not something that's done. Not on Trello, not...

Or... just sell what people need without the hype. Not everyone wants the sizzle. They just want steak, kwim? They can have it fast, cheap or good, pick 2. I'm not cheap, so my goods are fast and good. That's it. Here's a couple of examples: A LinkedIn 'strategist' had a free 5-point method...

I need to learn English to understand this forum properly.

Also, learn songs in English to get the sound of it. Start with children's songs, then work your way up to country music. You know K-pop, right? Try rapping in English. Then come back to the forum and read the posts out loud. It works! Ideas are from this guy: Idahosa Ness (the Mimic Method)

How to start when disabled ?

You know what I need? I need someone to do a basic sign language video for my clients. As in, I have the script - I want you to sign it. In ASL, if you know it. There are technical terms. There are SO MANY deaf people who are underserved because of a silly language barrier. Want the gig? PM me.

It's not just Google. A few years ago, Chase had a full page ad showing a little Korean grandma in front of a monster truck. The ad read "We didn't think so either". It was an announcement of their shiny new policy to cancel any credit card payment that didn't fit your purchase profile. ...
