I have been selling almost solely on my own website since February. About 90%+ of my sales come from there.

Sales have been about the same every month. They should start to slowly ramp up this month and then explode on Black Friday through Christmas. I have 75-80 products that I sell currently. Probably about 20 of them sell multiple items a week. The rest sell one a week or so.

Your best option is to contact your supplier and see what shipping options they will use and what the cost is for each. You can then compare and see what is the best option. China post is normally far cheaper than DHL and way slower but there might be restrictions on weight or size that your...

Dhgate gets a bad rap for the same reason that eBay does, there are bad sellers. Every platform has bad sellers that can make the site look bad. The huge thing about dhgate is you pay via credit card. Credit card companies are really good about working with you if the seller scams you. That is a...

The product isn't the answer. The act of finding products is. I can hand you a great product that sells well and you will make money on it for a few months or years. If you never learn the process of how to find products you will be in trouble. How do you find products? Read the 76 pages of...

If the item is branded by a name you know it is most likely a knockoff. (Apple, Otterbox, Lifeproof, etc.) If there is no brand on it or If the brand is a chinese one you should be fine reselling it. Electronics cases (cell phones & tablets) is a super saturated market on eBay and Amazon. I...

You will not find legit Jordan's or Nikes on any chinese site. The only way to get those legit is direct through Nike and Jordan distributors and I am going to guess they want a physical store and way more volume than you are prepared to buy at one time.

    Buying inventory for eCommerce

Why would you start with 50 items? If you are bootstrapping this then start with 1-5 depending on your budget. Order a few of each item and see what sells. Order more of what sells and don't order what doesn't. I'm not sure what could possibly be the reason for not being able to run this out...

    Frustrations Along The Fastlane Journey

    MINDSET
Every bump in the road is a spot where someone else has given up. There are no bumps in the road to work at a McDonalds hence why they pay minimum wage. The more bumps/hurdles you climb over the less people are willing to do it. When you get to the top it probably won't be because you were the...

Alibaba Cutting Out The Middle Man?

My guess is the email was never from Alibaba and neither was the person you were talking to. Click on the name in the email you received and I would bet money that it is either a slightly different spelling of alibaba or a completely different email. Sounds like someone is doing some market...

$3,000 to $1,000,000 in 15 months: HOW TO DO IT

    IDEA
Totally doable and I'm not even talking about from china you can buy truckloads of merchandise for pennies on the dollar. Sell them for nickels or dimes on the dollar and you are in business. If there is ever a two month period of time where that would be possible it would be November/December.

$3,000 to $1,000,000 in 15 months: HOW TO DO IT

    IDEA
Ok I'll take a whack at the 10k to 100k in 2 months. Buy a 10k truckload of toys. Resell on eBay/Amazon/web or Craigslist for 50-75k buy one more truckload for 10k sell for 50k boom 100 grand. Simple, clean, and certainly far more likely than traveling all across the globe trying to flip gems...

Why Facebook is a Joke (And various social media/smartphone insanity)

    NOTABLE! HOT! MARKETING
On the flip side of this discussion, I went to a college football game with my brother a couple of weeks ago. If I would have been picked up by TV cameras I was on my phone multiple times throughout the game. I'm sure people would be making fun of me for being on my phone while sitting on the...

Even if you are more expensive you will still sell some... Just not as many. The problem with eBay is it can quickly become a race to the bottom with price wars. If you can sell at the same price as the cheapest person and still make a decent profit then go for it. If that is unprofitable, set...

You would need to keep track of how much you spent for inventory whether purchased through craigslist, with a credit card or whatever other means you get your products from. The IRS knows that $500,000 in sales obviously does not translate into 500k in profit. Just keep track of what you spend...

If they are a great selling item I would just list the price at a profitable amount and see what happens. 120 positive feedback is pretty decent as long as it's all positive. Most people just look at the % rating. Once the guys who are the cheapest sell out then you will still be the cheapest...

Really funny I was just over on reddit and saw this up there. Quite a bit of good info for beginners. On the subject of sourcing, aliexpress and dhgate are chocked full of good products that can be imported for a profit. You can use your credit card to pay so you can always do a chargeback if...

I agree with not selling anything that would be ingested or goes on the skin. Too many negative possibilities for my liking. There can be huge margins in hair care, perfume, etc. but you really have to do your homework and make sure that the company isn't just throwing random stuff in the bottle...

If you are selling on eBay it doesn't matter if you have one product or thousands. People will buy from you if you have the product that they want at the price they want. If you are talking about setting up a website for one product than that is a bit different.

Pretty much every question you asked varies depending on your account age/feedback and how much money you have available. I will try to answer them as best as possible. 1. I want there to be few enough competitors that people would scroll through them and be able to find my product in the mix...
