That's the kind of mats I want. At least an inch thick. The ones I use now are maybe a 1/4 inch, and I think they fill an 8x8 space. Better than nothing, but leaves my body kinda sore after drilling on them, and they're the puzzle style so they come apart depending on the moves I work...

Coach Says... When I talked to him about my first tournament, he said, "It's good to lose." For my second tournament, he said "the Kimura will serve you well" and "each tournament is good experience." When I talked to him Thursday about the February tournament, he said, "you can win." BJJ Wins...

Really good to see this report. I wonder if there are benefits to continued use after the pain is gone and your body feels healed. I've been fortunate to not have injuries recently. The worst things were a couple of self-inflicted rolled ankles from improper foot position for triangles...

The Date We officially set a date in early March for our return to MO. We've got about a month and a half to get ready. I'm in the process of selling my rental home in MO and plan to use the profits toward a home in Springfield where we're moving. Rental Properties One goal I intend to fulfill...

I'll have better access actually. There's a good fight gym. The price to train is lower and they have a broader variety of classes, including nogi BJJ, and several MMA classes at different levels. They even have a family BJJ class, so my daughter and I can train together. The gym is an affiliate...

Reconsidering Relocation... I didn't want to relocate, but it's not completely my decision. My ex wants to live separately, and I'm okay with that, but she can't afford to live in Utah on her own. Neither of us has family here, and Missouri housing is 50% cheaper. If I didn't have a child, I...

Definitely. I had fun dating last year, but it did a number on my emotions. Tips? Do something. If you want to kick a$$ by 37, start training right now.

Ecom Business Update After a full year, I decided to close my ecom website from this thread. The first half of the year went pretty well. The second started into a slow decline that ultimately ended with a single sale in December, and that sale came through Ebay and was nullified by a $99...

A programmer wanting to escape the time-for-money trap

    INTRO
If I sold new courses in 2024-2025, I would first publish short video content on YT, TikTok, or FB/Instagram to build a relevant audience quickly. All of the courses I have recently considered purchasing are by people who post short/long video content on these platforms.

Hey that works. Either way, I'm just curious to know how it does. I've heard plenty of good reports about BPC-157. I don't currently need it for anything, so I don't mind waiting for the full report.

Leveling Up Tournaments are like boss battles in video games. Afterward, you get a bunch of XP and level up. Each time I go back to training, it's like I'm twice as skilled as before. I see it in my kid too... Cool Kid Moment Post-tournament skills. Kiddo leveled up. She's starting to dominate...

Kickboxing My KB skills have slipped a bit as I've focused on BJJ. Now that I'm competing, I've come to like BJJ more than KB. It feels more natural for me. Anyway, I went to KB class yesterday, learned some new combos. My knee was a little tweaky with throwing kicks, but overall it held up...

Looks like someone found the Fastlane opportunity for BJJ... It'll only set you back $5k or so, but if they open an affiliate program I'll be all in.

The Tournament Today's tournament was a lot smaller than the previous one, but I had a better time. My daughter competed before me. It was her first time, so I had no idea what to expect. Her first match she got in a rear naked choke really fast and it was over in about 30 seconds. In the...
