Got $10K? Amazon Wants YOU to Deliver Packages

That's exactly what I thought. The same concept as McDonald's or any other franchise seller. It provides a business operations plan, suppliers, qualities standards, and customers just show up. McDonald's recently announced they are getting rid of all corporate-owned restaurants. They believe...

Is writing a book fast lane?

    HOT!
I was about to ask about that. What is it that kept you from feeling okay about marketing? I guess the answer would be a Mindset/Motivation post, rather than relevant here.

Money-Chasing Burns Bestselling Author...*Poof!* His pen name is gone.

    MINDSET
Wow. The scams by "Chance" remind me of the approach to life preached in Four Hour Work Week: Find the rules, find the loopholes, exploit the loopholes, declare yourself a winner. No difference between what Chance did here, and 4HWW's story of winning at sumo wrestling by startling the big guy...

Appealing to web design hiring managers

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Suppose I wanted to hire a web coder for some freelance work. This is a realistic idea, as I've hired web coders in past corporate jobs, and I'll probably be in a position to hire some web coders from my own freelance projects within the next few months. So, I have the chance to hire someone...

    Job finding

    EXECUTION RANT
Working harder at an extremely ineffective strategy, is not nearly as good as switching to a better strategy. If you wanted to get from New York to L.A., driving north even faster than ever before would not help you as much as simply turning west... even if you didn't drive west very fast. My...

Is writing a book fast lane?

    HOT!
For working with a standard nonfiction publisher, it all starts with a proposal. The proposal has table of contents, sample chapter, competitive analysis, why the author is well qualified to write the book, and suggested marketing plan. With a strong proposal, the author can get an agent and a...

Businessmann or Dealmaker? Which way is faster to real wealth?

Rich, thanks for a really interesting post! Do you have some systematic way to search out these bigger deals? Or do they come through serendipity, as you work on your main business?

Businessmann or Dealmaker? Which way is faster to real wealth?

Cruze, have you read MJ's books? He has a lot to say about Process vs. Event. A single deal is an Event that can make someone extremely wealthy for life. But, it usually takes a lifetime in the Process of building a business, or building dealmaking capability, to be able to make that big...

Is writing a book fast lane?

    HOT!
I think there's crosstalk going on about a misunderstanding of grammar and punctuation. I think the original question was: Could you say about MJ's two books ("Millionaire Fastlane" and "Unscripted"), that writing these books was a Fastlane-style activity for MJ? But the way it accidentally...

Is writing a book fast lane?

    HOT!
Not a silly question at all. Writing a book is a big project. Marketing it is another big project. Why take that on, if you don't have a business plan for it? I agree with all the comments about value for the reader. If your book idea is nonfiction, I would recommend, just use a blog...

Seeking a free video editing program?

Thanks guys. I already knew that Resolve is high end pro software. I visited their booth at the NABshow (giant video tech trade show), and also visited Fairlight before Blackmagic bought them and put the Fairlight audio editing code into Resolve. Got to see the big, expensive hardware control...

Seeking a free video editing program?

I've been wanting to try that, but from all the warnings on the website it looks like you need a mega-powerful machine to do anything at all. My interest is in some basic editing, combining short clips with a few cuts and dissolves and titles, and playing around a little with the color...

    Business Book Novel Recommendations

    BOOKS
I like a lot of your list, Rawseed, but I think One Minute Manager, and Who Moved My Cheese by one of its co-authors, are overhyped, badly written, shallow, smug, oversimplified crap. As one of the Amazon one-star reviews says of OMM: "But, instead of putting these gems on postcard, Blanchard...

    Business Book Novel Recommendations

    BOOKS
It looks like you're specifically asking about fiction stories that present business lessons? Have you read the rest of Goldratt's series after The Goal? (To spoil the surprise, Alex has bigger business problems and Jonah had bigger business answers!) Atlas Shrugged and Fight Club are very...

Growing A Web Design Business From Zero

One of my favorite things about college was how the schedule is so much more flexible than high school. Most classes don't meet every day, and it's up to you to figure out when to do your homework... whether that's a little bit every day, or wait til it all piles up and panic at the last...
