FAILURE TO SEARCH CAN LEAD TO FAILURE

    EXECUTION
I suggest that anyone planning on sourcing products overseas should have a look at my site Proven Global Sourcing - Proven Global Sourcing Read the hundreds of testimonials and see how many relate to the huge savings made or the mistakes avoided by reading my book. Many of those testimonials...

Sourcing products that other companies import

    SOURCING
Just because someone that you identify as an exporter offers a product for sale, that is no guarantee that they even stock it, let alone actually produce it. Also just because someone claims to be a manufacturer that is not proof that they really are manufacturers. A high percentage of...

Sourcing products that other companies import

    SOURCING
The example you give is one of the countless such message boards/ directories that I advise my book readers to avoid. A quick glance at such sites will show that there are huge numbers of obsolete listings, which is a sure sign that little real business is done through those sites. You will...

FAILURE TO SEARCH CAN LEAD TO FAILURE

RISKS IN DIY SOURCING AND IMPORTING A recent post almost escaped my attention because it was posted in a forum that was not relevant to the subject. The member was not an importer, but had sent back to his supplier a component part that needed calibrating, and he guessed how he could avoid...

    Blinkist?

    HOT!
If the summary is written by the author, it is more likely to have more value, unless it is just the free bait to promote a sale of the book. I know that lectures are a different topic, but there could be some lessons to learn by considering lectures and even podcasts. The few podcasts that I...

Forum Self-Promotion Opp: Offers, Links, Your Biz, More (November 2019)

    SELF-PROMOTION
PRODUCT SOURCING Lately I have received many requests via PM for help in product sourcing, and for many of those members I have found the product they sought. Some who have approached with such a request have been striving hard to locate their sought-after product. Some have clearly made no...

    Manufacturer custom fees issue.

    PEOPLE
I doubt that you will have any hope of recovering the duty paid. The importer cannot obtain exemption without proper documentation, and in some countries there is no way to declare a temporary import. I am assuming the country where you bought the item is China? You should have arranged...

Is a full-time commission sales job slow lane or fast lane?

I found that owning a business did not provide total control. My manufacturing and exporting business was thriving and then came the Yom Kippur war in 1973. Arab countries imposed an oil embargo, triggering a worldwide mini recession. Panic set in. The manufacturing industries I supplied in...

Is a full-time commission sales job slow lane or fast lane?

I never worked to quotas. I just got out there and sold as much as I could even though I was on a salary, not commission. It was not appreciated by my boss, although it added substantially to his wealth. At least I learned a lot and put it to good use when I set up my own business. In my own...

How do I approach companies to find problems?

Great suggestion. I found a massive industry-wide problem when I was deciding which product type I would choose from all the supplier contacts I had obtained in China and a couple of other countries through networking. Four family members worked in places that used products within one of those...

How to get a good logo on a tight budget?

I have from time to time used graphic designers on Fiverr, and have been delighted with the results. The most recent cases have been designing 3D book covers for my Labeling and Franchising books. I set out amateurish layouts using Word, attached a picture, and the results that came back were...

    Unscripted in french

    MINDSET
Reading is an excellent way to learn English. My high school French teacher gave his classes small texts to read, and used those texts to teach us correct pronunciation. We had to read aloud. English is the international language of business. Fortunately much business is conducted without face...

Fastlane from a very little French South Pacific island

    INTRO
Welcome to the forum. If you want to learn about something, please use the search function on the right hand end of the top toolbar. I also know someone who has made a massive business selling on Amazon, but he lives on a small Caribbean island. More people should know that it can be done. Walter

Is a full-time commission sales job slow lane or fast lane?

A commission rep being required to put in 40 hours per week is really an oxymoron. A commission rep should only be required to get sales. The hours don't matter. It's the results that count. I have employed many commission reps, most of whom were female and more successful than their male...

    Whats the point of life?

    OFF-TOPIC
Taking advantage of those less wealthy, less educated, less intelligent, less physically capable, and intellectually or mentally disadvantaged is the savage law of the jungle. I prefer to help them find their way out of that jungle, and to my great relief I have found a business forum in which...

    Whats the point of life?

    OFF-TOPIC
@Bertram you asked several questions, so which one did I turn into a false debate? Your questions: "Cats are never mentioned anywhere in the Bible. So why?" I simply gave a factual and historically correct answer. You say "That questioned was posed as comedy by the way." I got it...

    Whats the point of life?

Yes I am also pleased to see how civil this thread is. Reading aloud can be very helpful. For a long period in Israel's history, there were very few copies of the written Bible, and the people learned by listening to it being read, as well as large parts of it being sung. I would question the...

    Whats the point of life?

    OFF-TOPIC
A good suggestion, but with one reservation: The Bible tells you how God thinks. A catechism, (whichever religion) tells you what men think. Walter There are many animals not mentioned in the Bible. The Mosaic law identified animals as clean or unclean, meaning suitable or unsuitable for...

    Whats the point of life?

    OFF-TOPIC
Like @Primeperiwinkle and @Kak, I think it reasonable in the midst of a throng of atheists to answer the question posed by the OP. I am saddened by the air of doom and gloom pervading this thread, dominated by philosophies that allow anyone to choose whatever idea suits their fancy, with the...
