    Earning $2,000,000 a day. Fastlane?

    HOT!
I haven't played the game myself, thanks a lot for explaining how the company turns hype into cash flow! Was the point of the thread only to see if forum members are playing, not to look for business lessons Fastlaners can apply? I seem to be the only one who took it that way.

    Sole proprietor vs. LLC

When you sell products or services, you automatically are the sole proprietor (person in charge) of your own business... unless you pay a state government to have a different status. As a sole proprietor, in terms of accounting, taxes, contracts, and lawsuits, there is no difference between you...

What's within reach as usable lessons for Fastlaners: Epic made a demo and showed it to gauge potential interest, before they produced the full game. They could have walked away at any point. "As the game was at its very preliminary stages at the VGA reveal, the goal of this reveal was to seek...

Applying FastLane Principles to Finding Love?

    HOT! PEOPLE
Widower (no kids) about a decade older than you responding here. I'd like to see if you can get all you'd like, in this lifetime. I suspect that train might have already left the station... unless you're willing to adopt, AND to postpone intensive business launch for ten years. I have had to...

I think there are already threads on here from other inventors, about provisional patents. Try a search to learn how that works.

    Business planning for accidental death?

Hi Trey. If the code is useless to people who don't already have your thoughts in their head, you could open source it. This would guarantee that it's available to your clients after you're gone. If the code has some proprietary business knowledge you aren't prepared to reveal, then set up...

A viable option to Windows hedgemony...Linux apps on ChromeOS

I think their main push is to use asm.js and NACL to get compiled Javascript performance within about a factor of 3 of C code, making it good enough for lots of uses that can still be hosted in the browser sandbox environment.

    INTRO
Best of Late Bloomer on Fastlane Forum In addition to my intro thread, you might enjoy these... I gathered my more substantial comments, as opposed to stuff in the ongoing flow of chit-chat The Big Idea might not really matter that much Looking for advice, expecting a lecture or 17 :)...

What do you do when you have no ideas

    HOT! IDEA
Very true! I had a mediocre job at a chain restaurant for a while. Noticed some things that Corporate provided them for marketing & operational technology, and started to ask just now... could I bring those same ideas to some Mom & Pop shops? I just started a Speedway thread on the topic.

    ProcessPro's Journal- Test Prep Website.

    EXECUTION
I used paper books with several sample tests to prepare for some big tests. I think today, the way to go would be to have a complete sample test with a timer, so you can practice how to decide to keep working on a question or let it go... AND, a companion phone app that would let you use...

USPS Priority Mail Boxes while trying to build a brand.

Isn't there a standard form that goes on top of the box (in some kind of clear sleeve), with the from and to information? Could you print that with all the required standard form space for USPS use, while adding your own big colorful logo to the top of it? Seems like your local postmaster...

Thanks for your interest in my posts, TJH. It looks like you don't have a post here to introduce yourself? I get the impression that you're an investor, thinking in terms of macro-economics scenarios? You have some juicy comments, would like to see more of what you have to say here.

Requesting NECTS analysis help for restaurant marketing plan

    MARKETING
I'm requesting help with a NECTS analysis of the general business concept: provide online marketing services for "Mom & Pop" (local, not franchised, not part of a bigger chain) restaurants, building sites for them and linking those into a lead generation/referrals portal. My goal is to focus...

If you haven't seen Steve Jobs's commencement speech, go watch that on youtube. He described how seemingly pointless, non work related passions in his life, turned out to be important in his career. But, he said, you can only connect the dots going back. An example is that before he dropped...

    perception of intelligence

    MINDSET
I agree with those who say intelligence isn't one thing, it's maybe any of ten different ways a person can be really good at dealing with the world around them. Some people are strong with words, abstract ideas, and book learning. Some people are brilliant with animals. Some with construction...

Hi Mark, welcome fellow forum newbie :) As someone who's had some very heavy duty health challenges in my life, my personal perspective is just one person's opinion. It might be different than what some other people suggest. I recommend that you do whatever you need to do, to get your health...
