    Bit of an oddball here..

    INTRO
I think you've found your tribe. :) Welcome! People living the script often don't understand that there are other paths, and are skeptical & confused about those of us who don't have a traditional cubicle-farm job. Being a parent & entrepreneurial has its challenges, but is also an incredible...

    (Complicated) Unpaid Invoice

I agree with @AgainstAllOdds. And spend as little time & energy with this as possible. Far better to focus on new prospects & clients who actually pay.

Feeling stuck... Made 1 sale, struggling to get more (Agriculture)

OK, since you already know a bit about the niche & top sites, what are the gaps--the unmet needs? For either the farmers or ag companies? An obvious need would be that the site is a lead generation platform--funneling farmer leads to ag companies, where the ag businesses pay to have access to...

    Needed: SAAS subscriber agreement

    SAAS / APPS
Thanks! I was focused on "subscriber agreement," rather than TOS. So, I reviewed a handful of TOS for other SAAS's (WooCommerce, Pipedrive, ClickUp, MinuteDock), and it looks like--at least for now--I can choose the pieces that apply to my SAAS, and cobble something together until I have...

    Needed: SAAS subscriber agreement

    SAAS / APPS
Hey, Fastlaners, I've built a SAAS MVP for the 1st of a few clients who've asked me to build it. Basically, it's a web portal that lets their clients/users see the details of the projects the company is working on for the end user. My SAAS doesn't store the client's info, but is a conduit: I...

Another funding option could be start-up pitch competitions. I've known colleagues who've won pitch competitions where the prize amounts are 4- & 5-figures, and it's basically a grant--no equity is required to receive the cash. Some areas are much more competitive though (e.g., Austin TX).

Is this business model for a mobile app realistic?

    SIDE HUSTLE SAAS / APPS
You're basically looking at monetizing traffic. It's a similar issue whether you're doing it via a mobile app, a website, a YouTube channel, etc. In my experience (monetizing a website via infoproducts) & observation (of a colleague using ads to monetize a 130k+ pageviews/month website, as well...

    Create Prototype Myself Or Outsource?

If your prototype requires skills and/or equipment that you don't have--and don't necessarily want to acquire (or would take a long time to acquire)--then find other people who can help you make the prototype. Otherwise, your prototype is just an idea without execution--which'll probably bum...

Exiting the Slowlane by Buying a Business

    HOT! SLOWLANE EXECUTION
Given that analogy, do you feel comfortable sitting in the pilot's seat? Like, have you flown a glider or a single-engine plane before you sit behind the controls of a 737? That's the point I'm making about the risk of acquiring a large business without having run a smaller one first. Not to...

Exiting the Slowlane by Buying a Business

    HOT! SLOWLANE EXECUTION
Plunking down $100k, $500k, $1MM on a business without having run a business before sounds super risky. You might want to read this thread: GOLD! - From 0 To $240,000 Per Year PROFIT In 18 Months Also, like mentioned in that thread, consider your criteria for a business: do you want to...

"I don't know what product to sell" How You Choose A Product-Based Business

    NOTABLE!
Agree. That marinating & ruminating about a problem, even though it seems non-action-y, is useful, since you eventually come up with solutions that you wouldn't have if you tried brute-forcing the ideation. (Although some techniques for ideation can be useful). The other thing I find that's...

"I don't know what product to sell" How You Choose A Product-Based Business

    NOTABLE!
That's a really interesting video--fascinating to see his process: the oiled left-hand test (not what you might think...), the way he thinks about what & how to improve the products, how he tests items & what he looks for, his criteria for evaluating items.

This is a great distillation. Deceptively simple. Like, if you can answer those 3 questions clearly, the path forward reveals itself. Then you don't need to keep chasing me-too ideas. And you'll build a moat around your business from me-too clones. Also, for bear-spray deployment: what about...

A message to a friend who's overwhelmed and worried

    MINDSET
Hey, Andy, thanks for sharing this. You might think you're rambling, but I could totally identify with it--juggling like 15 client projects plus side projects plus personal/family stuff, working late & getting up early, ACK! So, yeah, I'm going to go for a walk after I finish my last client...

    Should I buy this business?

    HOT!
Questions that might help you decide: Quick math shows that your effective hourly rate would be $80/hour ($8k net/month / 100 hours/month)--is that worth it to you? Could you reduce the time required by delegating (to your partner/spouse, kids, or a teen/college student)? Could you scale it...

+5k extra monthly income to fill deficit, 20 day challenge, starts now!!

    EXECUTION
Agree with others that ramping up your consulting is likely the fastest path to cash--for the moment. It doesn't have to be fastlane--it just has to fill the gap in income. Also, we all have ideas, but something that I've found helpful is to focus not on WHAT you could do, but WHO you can help...
