Everyone I'm offering clients already has clients. Should I just endure?

Just an update, was looking at ringless VM info earlier and came across this: https://www.fcc.gov/document/fcc-finds-ringless-voicemails-are-subject-robocalling-rules...

I don't think I've ever seen someone flip out, be passive-aggressive or get into a "fight" (one sided as it may be) on here and actually hang around- much less go anywhere with their business. There's a ton of flybys that start up an account, make grand claims, wonder why their t-shirt...

Why are sales letters selling only 1-4%?

    MARKETING
IIRC, @Oso running his old web dev agency sent about 5000 mailings/flyers and got his biz off the ground before he switched to hiring commission salesmen for lead gen and sales.

Is web design still a profitable business in 2023 ?

    WEB DESIGN
It may be easy to create a website but few business owners have the time, know how, or ability to set up a website that meets their needs and meet them well. New businesses are also getting stood up around the clock. For reference: One of my first big clients tried to set his site up himself on...

Try calling if you can find any number. Godaddy ignored an email I sent them after I tried to close out hosting in '21 and charged me 600$ for hosting I never knew still existed nor used. Tried to use their chat/email but was simply sent the link to their refund policy. Immediately rang up...

Exiting the cubicle farm and taking Web-Design full time

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Appreciate it, some things to keep in mind: - I work a dayjob and have to work around that. - The outreach is a simple system, I dedicate a chunk of time or a lunchbreak for emails or calls and then I forget about it with a nonzero chance of landing a job that's worth a 1-3 dayjob paychecks due...

Been a minute, time for an update: Positives + Followed on two video lessons from the FWS group, sending out personalized e-mails to owners with bad sites following Alex Berman's script, then calling to follow up. Appear to be getting a 35% open rate with the custom e-mails. Used to call if...

Everyone I'm offering clients already has clients. Should I just endure?

    HOT! MARKETING WEB DESIGN
Yeah, keep in mind though I work a dayjob and lost a lot of potential clients because they were unwilling to do a sales call after normal work hours or on the weekend. Couldn't take a day off to run only sales meetings because you have to call to find anyone interested first and lock down a...

Completely normal esp with trades or anything reasonably important. Something I noticed early on and like 20+ other FWS students I've been in groups with or kept up with. I've personally had 50+ convos with local commercial business owners that all repeated the same thing. If it wasn't...

Here's another one: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0QCq5mpe1T4j0MpNR5UUwI?si=_rDZXt1cRH67XrgUFq-3dg&utm_source=copy-link They ran into issues with capital for launching a... pretty journal. They built a 3200 person email list to try to get 15,000$ on kickstarter but ended up getting about...

Like any good TFF member, I spend any possible downtime listening to talks with founders. I like hearing about people getting off the ground and getting started, and how quickly (or not) they were able to take off. A big, painful recurring theme is that there seem to be a lot of what I call...

    executing a web design business

    SIDE HUSTLE
One suggestion since it's been about 7 years since the old fox thread: There's a ton of decent WYSIWYG builders out there now, if you want to get off the ground quickly, WIX has an easy to use editor, you can get the client to pay for and register it, and you can be sent a link to allow you to...

Anyone had moments when their cold emailing is very slow?

    HOT! QUESTION
Good sentiment but the message is cheap. If your back is against the wall, accept that networking/cold calls may be your only ticket to regular business, pick up the phone and get started. Get an idea of who you want to work with, create a list, and start calling. No matter the outcome, keep...

    Ear Infection? Or Something Else?

    HEALTH
Had something similar, hit up an ENT. It's probably just clogged with wax. They have scrapers, drops, and a little vacuum that can suck the wax out. From what he said, if you use qtips or dig deeply in your ear canal it can create a stress response and extra wax. Wax builds on wax and soon you...

They're getting super popular with younger kids, assuming because of social media. "Man, my favorite tiktok peeps are making passive income but I don't know how to start, what should I do?" Then some @$$shat shows up on their feed feeding them lines about joining a "revenue network" and suddenly...

Alex Hormozi. What is your opinion? Mine is (mostly) negative.

    GURUS
Popped into the live stream and immediately saw this: Any price in xxx7 sets off alarm bells.... but then he said the book and audiobook would be free- Ok. My only question now... is there a catch? Or is he just brand building right now. Either way, hope to get some value from my read through.

Whoa, did chosen1 leave the forum? I saw his progress thread lit up last night but seeing some aftershocks of some drama and that he deleted it. Still surprised, he was asking for advice iirc and he got it, did he just mentally shut down and start refusing advice? Hell of a way to flush years...

Rate This Idea: Smart Wildfire Suppression System

    IDEA
Your heart's in the right place but are you willing to pay for people to strap 150$/equipment per tree to 50,000,000 trees across the dry western U.S. ? It's come up a bit in the past and interesting to think about, but apparently a large chunk of wildfires are caused by the fact that the USFS...
