    Phone sales vs Face-to-Face sales

    MARKETING
AGREED! I sell in orders of about $300-1.5k. Those are great for an email pitch and followup phone call. But, If I was at one of my old jobs selling a hardware/software bundle at a $120k+ install price, then a F2F meeting is pretty much mandatory.

    How do you keep healthy?

Mentors yes, but I also repeated that when I got to a level where I plateaued and hired a coach. With mentors, you pay by adding value to them. With coaches you just have to pay money :)

    How do you keep healthy?

I was a 150.5 lb (6'0") skellyman, and I gained 22lbs of muscle in one year. Here's what I did: 1) Hit rock bottom. Get sick of your body, and decide something needs to change. Strangely, it was an important step for me. 2) Get a pro's help. I read blogs and books all day, and you can...

Ready, Fire, Aim just made my to-read list recently... I think it was because of a podcast interview I heard him on in the past couple of weeks. I wish I could remember which podcast it was. It was a great interview. If anybody is interested in sharing books or recommendations on goodreads...

How does one analyze an investment? Example given: convertible note

    INVESTING
So over a year ago, someone presented me with this investment opportunity. It sounded good, but I don't have the financial wherewithal (yet) to know if it was a good or bad deal, so I passed. Still, I think it would be a good opportunity for me to learn how I could have handled this. The deal...

10x Rule by Grant Cardone I think there's a huge cult of personality around him, and he's not my favorite... but just because I don't want to get a beer with him doesn't mean his book has nothing to teach. Plus it's a library book. Can't beat free knowledge :) Also, it's an insanely fast...

Is the Stock Market a Good Fastlane Road?

    HOT! INVESTING
Obligatory: https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/is-this-fastlane-uh-no-it-isnt.58554/ Plus, dude... I don't want my business decisions tied to a "rush of adrenaline" or any other emotional response. Strategy shouldn't be a reptile brain decision. Regarding the "lifestyle that...

    Would YOU buy it?

Yeah it never hurts. That said, I think that once you go to a company that buys a lot of these hoodies, you'll probably find that it's a bad idea. Again, I don't know that since I'm not your potential customer, and I definitely don't want to discourage you from going out and finding if this...

    Would YOU buy it?

I wouldn't buy it because I don't have just one hoodie that I wear all the time (and I don't like the pullover hoodies with one front pocket). Your demographic here is people who both 1) have a favorite hoodie that they wear all the time, and 2) it's a specific type of hoodie. UNLESS, you make...

Is there a vacuum created by Radio Shack locations closing?

See I don't even want something like a Sharper Image or another consumer electronics store like that. I want a place with electrical components and hobbyist tools (resistors, capacitors, potentiometers, solder, soldering tools, wire of all types) so I can get a part that I need at a moment's...

Is there a vacuum created by Radio Shack locations closing?

I wonder if the Radio Shack restructure will have them refocus on all the new tech coming out instead of chasing handset sales. Something tells me they won't. A store within a store might be good if executed well, but I don't think Walmart can pull it off. It also didn't work so hot for Best...

Is there a vacuum created by Radio Shack locations closing?

I work with electronics and a week ago, my solder-sucker broke. If you don't know, that's just a little hand-held desoldering tool. I knew over half of the radio shacks had closed, but DANG! I can't find a solder-sucker anywhere, even at the one Radio Shack left open. I had to run all over...
