The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Random Chat Thread...
CHAT - AI -I’ve been using ChatGPT for a lot of searching. I’m a structural engineer and it’s saved me a bunch of time finding information on stuff like construction codes, load tables, weights in PSF of common building materials, etcetera. I see some people using Perplexity for search. I’ll have to try...- ThomasTLM

Faceless YouTube Channels, Can it Be Done?
MARKETING SOCIAL MEDIAThere are some faceless channels that don't even have fantastic animation but still do pretty well. Here's a couple examples: https://www.youtube.com/@easyactually https://www.youtube.com/@theangryexplainer The animation is primarily stick figures. Can't get any more simple than that.- ThomasTLM

Helping engineers pass their professional exams
EXECUTIONI think that preparing for professional exams will always suck no matter what. However, the biggest annoyance is the price tag for exam prep courses specifically for the FE. The FE is usually for college students who may or may not have the money to spend on the review material or courses. I...- ThomasTLM

'I Expect More': Here's Why Some Fans Are 'Disappointed' With Taylor Swift's $40 Eras Tour Book
Meanwhile, and on a similar note, Twenty-One Pilots put out a similar book about the bands history, and it's selling pretty well. https://theonlybanditw.com/products/the-only-band-in-the-world-paperback-book- ThomasTLM

Helping engineers pass their professional exams
EXECUTIONWARNING: Big post ahead! Perhaps refill your coffee before going forward lol. It's been a few months since I've contributed anything meaningful to the forum, and frankly I've gone back and forth about creating this thread. I'll think to myself "Perhaps it would be wise to let people in on my...- ThomasTLM

Addiction Doesn’t Exist: The Billion-Dollar Lie Keeping You Stuck
BOOKS MINDSET HEALTHI’m sure a lot of people will see this as a hot take, but I’m actually inclined to believe it doesn’t exist mainly for the reason that we have Free Will. If a thing exists which steals our Free Will completely, then that thing is not real because nothing can take away our Free Will. This is a...- ThomasTLM

HOT! CHATHappy Thanksgiving everyone. I thought I’d share something my priest said to us about today: “Thanksgiving is unique among American holidays. It is the only one that became widespread without liturgical inspiration, and unlike other secular holidays, it is religiously observed with its own...- ThomasTLM

Why is everything so hard?
RANTI've had the same thing happen to me with Facebook, Google, and Bing ads. I got banned for seemingly no reason, and then you start to question if you actually did something wrong or if Big Tech is just gaslighting you. I'm glad you're looking at it this way, and I understand wanting to rant...- ThomasTLM

HOT! CHATQuick question for the forum: What are people's opinions on Notion as a website builder? I've been using it to create a website "prototype" recently and I think I'm headed in the right direction in light of the "7 P's" from Unscripted (the "P" I'm on would of course be Prototype). I know a lot...- ThomasTLM

I quit video games
MINDSET RANTJust thought I would throw a quick update in here. It's been a little over 3 months since I removed all video games from my laptop. I realized doing so made it way harder to just start playing whenever I open my laptop. I know I'll have to make the conscious decision to download a game if I...- ThomasTLM
