Lex DeVille's: One Thread For All My Genius, Unhinged, Mostly Really Bad Ideas
GOLD! OFF-TOPICAt this point I could go either way. I'm good enough for amateur, but pro is a long way off. My main concern isn't injury, it's the required effort output. I can compete in BJJ for the rest of my life, but there's a rapidly shrinking window to become a cage fighter, and with all the...- Lex DeVille

Lex DeVille's: One Thread For All My Genius, Unhinged, Mostly Really Bad Ideas
GOLD! OFF-TOPICGirlfriend's Injury The surgery is over. She made it through post-op. There's a long plate with 13 screws in her arm. The staples are removed. She's started physical therapy. She can lift up to 2lbs with her right arm. In two more weeks she can lift 5lbs. 12 weeks total healing time. FUJI St...- Lex DeVille

Lex DeVille's: One Thread For All My Genius, Unhinged, Mostly Really Bad Ideas
GOLD! OFF-TOPICMy *tentative* competition schedule is pretty crazy this year. Currently, I have 24 competitions, with possibly one or two others that aren't on the books yet. I completed 3 blue belt competitions at the end of last year, and 2 more in January of this year. By the end of the year, I should...- Lex DeVille

Start an Etsy Side-Hustle in 2026
SIDE HUSTLEThey're not print on demand. I print them at home with an HP ENVY 7100 that I bought several years ago. If this grows enough, I'll upgrade to a better printer, but this one handles everything well so far.- Lex DeVille

Start an Etsy Side-Hustle in 2026
SIDE HUSTLEDigital products are okay. My main concern is chargebacks. Every time I sold digital on my website or through Etsy, chargebacks became a problem. Etsy is quick to ban for chargebacks and will not give you a chance to appeal (even though they say they will). Digital products generally need to...- Lex DeVille

Start an Etsy Side-Hustle in 2026
SIDE HUSTLEThe way I understand it is that Etsy's algorithms prioritize some shops over others in search results (visibility). More visibility = More sales When the algorithm crawls a shop, it checks for indicators that the shop should get more visibility. It looks for things like: Number of sales...- Lex DeVille

Start an Etsy Side-Hustle in 2026
SIDE HUSTLEI'm making this thread because my recent Etsy posts are getting lost in my general progress thread and the info is valuable for beginners. If you don't have a business idea, sell something on Etsy and start earning money this month for less than $40...- Lex DeVille

Lex DeVille's: One Thread For All My Genius, Unhinged, Mostly Really Bad Ideas
GOLD! OFF-TOPICThat's tempting as a topic. Lately, I can barely bring myself to use social media. All of my friends are at each other's throats over politics. It's creating rifts in our gym. Every comment on any post I might be interested in is something nasty or mean by some person I'll never meet (if it's a...- Lex DeVille

Lex DeVille's: One Thread For All My Genius, Unhinged, Mostly Really Bad Ideas
GOLD! OFF-TOPICProbably. Most of the things I share don't stop being relevant just because a few years pass. For instance, the stuff I used to share about how to get hired on Upwork in 2017 still applies today. I haven't flipped anything lately, but if I started flipping today, I would use a generally similar...- Lex DeVille

GOLD! OFF-TOPICAGF Conway Results AGF started off well and then took a turn for the worst. I'll start with the good. The Good: In the matches below, I performed well. I attempted an armbar transition to a Tarikoplata in the first one, but didn't quite get the angle. I won on points (22 to 6). In the second...- Lex DeVille

NOT Creating a YouTube Gaming Channel
EXECUTIONHave you tried posting YT shorts of these? The views and like ratios you're getting are good considering the time frame and channel history. If 253 people watched the first one since Oct., I bet a lot more would click a short that explains some key detail. I'm curious to see how streaming goes...- Lex DeVille

GOLD! OFF-TOPICSome day one of these photographers is gonna catch me in a good position instead of fighting out of bad ones lol. Tarikoplata Tarik Hopstock teamed up with Lachlan Giles and published a course on the Tarikoplata in Submeta. The move fits well with my current systems. I haven't tried it in...- Lex DeVille
