From the looks of things, I'm doubtful they're going to be able to do the same for their investors.

Do your employees/contractors have direct access to your customers?

    PEOPLE
Whether you run a strong risk of employees/subcontractors poaching your clients depends on a number of factors. It depends on the service and how it's executed. For instance, a building contractor who subcontracts the plumbing and electrical out is going to have to worry way less about the...

2020 Let's go! A story about my failure.

A good exercise for you to do would be to do a post mortem on this. Think critically and clearly about what didn't work and what did. Sort these two things out so that you see them as distinct from one another. I'm not sure that you see that yet. From an outsider's perspective, your post is...

    HOT! CHAT
Yes. I actively refrain from following politics, especially from the media. All the stuff I need to know trickles down to me without me making an effort to find out about it. The rest of the stuff, I'm convinced, is intentionally created to be as addictive as possible to make people become...

Do you make dog leashes? I have looked for a nice leather leash recently, and the ones in pet stores are a JOKE.

    It’s important to get quiet

    MINDSET
Yes. Being quiet and thoughtful is a very valuable thing. @James Klymus I have observed the same thing about many people, that they can't stand to be alone with their thoughts. I've always chalked it up to "maybe they're dealing with too much painful head trash," but I wonder if there's more...

Need help getting clients for my Digital Marketing Business

    HOT! MARKETING
This is true. What is the most dangerous, in my opinion, is digital marketing agencies who do a fabulous job of marketing themselves, and then do a horrible job of marketing the client's business. I've seen that and it's really sad. This is gold right here. Yes yes yes! In other words...

    Jobs aren't bad.

    HOT! MINDSET
YES! Someone else sees this! I read a story recently of some people in Kansas who donated a whole bunch of farming machines to a village in Southeast Asia. A team went over and taught them how to use it all. That year, the village produced record quantities of rice. Everyone was super excited...

No one will mentor me! Wait, no, that's too hard!

    NOTABLE!
I just saw the Masterclass ad on youtube featuring Chris Voss. The 2-for-1 offer is back. All-Access is 2 passes for $180 (50% off). Super tempting. Anyone want to split this with me? It expires in 3 hours...

    Colorado/Denver Lunch Meeting

    MEETUPS
I might be able to make it to this. That'll be right before the summit. So it'll be like a nice pre-summit warmup to meet a few people. Sounds awesome!

Your writing style is absolutely hilarious! Super entertaining. Might be good to browse the Colorado Meetup threads on the forum and initiate something. I'm guessing a few people from the forum would probably show up if somebody initiated something. Here's one to get you started...

When I was working in banking in 2013, we had a regular weekly task of verifying the cash that was in the vault. We would count all the money and report exactly how many hundreds, fifties, etc. there was in the branch. But I assumed it was just for making sure that the money wasn't...

    The Return of Blogs

    HOT! SOCIAL MEDIA
I couldn't help noticing that as of this morning, the post has 64 replies. I think the thing that makes a blog a thriving community is the knowledge that you're contributing to a conversation with a real person. One of the things that killed blogs was when people outsourced that work to...

Email subject lines. What’s your technique?

Basic: The subject line should indicate what's in the body of the message while evoking curiosity. Use the same approach you'd use to write a compelling headline. Keep in mind that you only have a limited number of characters before most mobile devices will cut off the rest of what you've...

What’s your red and green flags?

Red: high turnover or very young staff who have all been there a year or less Green: loyal people who happily work for them for years Red: You believe them because of some authority endorsement. You maybe even overlook some discrepancies because you trust the authorities they've associated...
