You only have so many sunsets left...

    MINDSET
Makes me wonder why neither my dad or grandpa never did that. My dad is 69, and not stopping any time soon. My grandpa took a break for a while in his 60’s, but ultimately bought scrap until he died. You’re a beast dude. Your posts always make me think for days after reading them.

You only have so many sunsets left...

    MINDSET
If you enjoy it, couldn’t you find a way to have both? Maybe not to the scale you have now, but something to build for the enjoyment of it while you’re chilling on the beach? I like this kind of post though. The “why” we’re all doing this stuff doesn’t get asked enough.

Does a service business violate the rule of Control?

    QUESTION
https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/starting-and-fastlaning-a-lawn-care-service-business.82747/ First example that comes to mind. Basically yes, they can scale. MJ talks about business types in the Millionaire Fastlane, most service businesses fall under the category of human...

Got laid off - start a business or get a new engineering job?

    INTRO
You’re not going to make $180k doing many service businesses without putting in a lot of time. Another high paying job would probably distract you less than a service biz. But if you’re hell-bent on doing a service biz, you could just get another job and start the service biz as a side hustle so...

Im going fastlane out of hate and fear... Thoughts ?

    FEEDBACK
Anger can definitely motivate you to get off your butt and start changing your life. But I’ve really never met anyone who is successful, from this forum, other entrepreneur groups or just in everyday life that sustain that kind of mentality. I like where @ZF Lee ’s head is, you should focus on...

    New job or stay put?

    MINDSET
Yep, why not? I guess in my mind staying in the business isn't really low-hanging fruit if I'm miserable. I might. I feel very qualified to start one on my own.

    New job or stay put?

    MINDSET
I don't think so. Many FTM's but nothing that really stands out. My opinion is very malleable here, but I never understood why it was so important for entrepreneurial success. I mean, does it mean you can never be successful without some sort of adversity? I just don't know many successful...

    New job or stay put?

    MINDSET
There’s not a thing wrong with wanting to work at something that you want to do. I think you’ve misread my postings here. I’m not complaining that I’m not filthy rich. As for the rest of what you’re saying, help me to understand if you would. Yes, this post is about me. That’s why I’m here...

    New job or stay put?

    MINDSET
Not really sure what warrants your brow beating, but I’ll respond. You’re right about my inexperience with business, but you’re absolutely wrong about my ability to improve dad’s business. I have improved it, for many years. Even when I was full time working on my own business, I would still...

Young fastlaners: SHUT DOWN ALL SOCIAL MEDIA

    GOLD! HOT!
Well that video randomly popped up in my YouTube feed and I did it, and haven’t stopped with certain parts of it because I liked how abstaining made me feel… from social media and alcohol. So I’m not too concerned about how wrong he is, just that it had value for me.

Young fastlaners: SHUT DOWN ALL SOCIAL MEDIA

Very important, ask me how I know In the same vein (vane? vain?) here’s a video about a thing. It’s pretty neat. Did it a week or so ago and have to say it was very worthwhile. View: https://youtu.be/gh2m0dj_lFk

I don’t know about my only challenge, but it certainly is a challenge. I like that phrase, golden handcuffs. Fits perfectly.

    New job or stay put?

    MINDSET
@Vigilante why do you always have to be right? I kind of figured I’d come across as a spoiled brat with this post… I like the advice though, which is why I came back. You’re not the first to call me the prodigal son lately I don’t want to leave on bad terms. Truly I want to leave because me...

    New job or stay put?

    MINDSET
Mostly my approach. I had quit my job to pursue web design, so I was just burning money… basically I quit too soon. I created a really stressful situation for myself and gave up more so than failed. Seemed like as soon as I got a little success in web design, I shifted my focus to the barbell...

    New job or stay put?

    MINDSET
Well, here I am again. Had some failures at business and life, licked my wounds for long enough, so it’s time to get after it again. After failing to get a web design business and an online barbell coaching business going, I went back to work for my dad at his recycling center. I’ve never...

How to Wipe Your Own a$$ When You're 70

    HEALTH
Well, you're not wrong. Though I wouldn't recommend TRT for women, or younger guys who aren't lacking in testosterone. Strength is one of the areas of fitness that we can very effectively control through our actions, as I've laid out in the above posts. While hormone replacement will positively...

How to Wipe Your Own a$$ When You're 70

    HEALTH
How to Wipe Your Own a$$ When You're 70: Part 3/3 The Squat Why the squat? The squat is the most important, most impactful exercise I’ve talked about here, and that has ever existed. Second, some of the techniques involved in the squat also apply to other exercises, so it’s a good place to go...

Is Calorie Counting model really flawed?

    HOT! HEALTH
There’s no way around it, it is a bit cumbersome no matter how you approach it. But I also don’t plan on doing it forever, that’s just unrealistic. I’m mostly doing it so that I can improve my long-term ability to eat intuitively. You can get a simple food scale (mine was ~$12 on Amazon) and...

Is Calorie Counting model really flawed?

    HOT! HEALTH
I’m a recent convert to calorie counting. I’ve had success using the keto diet in the past, and have been deconstructing why I lost fat with it. I went from a portly 160 to a ridiculously lean 135 within a few months. Obviously it was effective, and I didn’t count calories. But I understand...
