    GOLD! SOURCING
Is there a list of major trade shows for the major outsourcing countries? I can't remember if it was in your book or not. It'd be good to attend a show in person and look for new ideas and make good contacts. There must be a listing somewhere for major industries.

i second this, one of my companies was employer of the year for a local special needs employment program. It's fantastic. They drop them off, pick them up and have a supervisor with them at all times. Their wages are subsidized. They are bright, cheery, enthusiastic and do good work...

The next gold rush - IoT (internet of things)

    WEB/DIGITAL
This rush will come in stages of adoption, from novelty to critical, as confidence and security improves. (i do not touch anything financial via mobile, other than generic portfolio status/alerts not linked to any of my accounts). I do like the remote security/medical monitoring and remote...

The Value of Things (And Why I Don't Drive a Lambo)

    OFF-TOPIC
Fun having some toys n stuff. They can be a PITA, esp in MN getting all the boats and jetskis winterized and stored after 90 days of summer ;) But where people go wrong is they let stuff define them, and focus on the destination, rather than the journey. You can use the secret to wish...

On how to take advantage of biggest real estate gold rush in 20 years.

    REAL ESTATE
I bought my commercial building not long ago from the bank. Former CRE owner went belly up on a sizable light industrial portfolio in the crunch and the bank had it awhile. The bank got tired of the headaches trying to raise our rent ;) (I never drove my Bentley to work! Esp when the banker...

    What laptop have you got?

    OFF-TOPIC
i've had some apple and pc, and have gone for PC, 17" screen. I like the screen real estate, battery life isn't too big a deal for me. Unless you are some photog or video editor or phd doing quantum math, most laptops are just internet browsing devices. So I see no reason to pay so much for...

    Non-compete agreements. Your opinion?

    PEOPLE
My company paid. The employee lied to the hiring company so they didn't know about the employment agreement. As soon as we sent them a letter they halted employment and later turned over "all" (probably most and redacted some juicy stuff) documents/emails. The ex-employee has little money...

ha ha, exactly. It'd be cheaper and easier to rent a snowmobile for $200 a day for the 2-3 days you can ride. I'll have to check to see if there is such a beast in the metro then get rid of mine. I think the boating clubs that sell rental memberships aren't doing too bad either, I'd...

    Non-compete agreements. Your opinion?

    PEOPLE
I just enforced an agreement with an ex R&D employee who I found out got hired by a large competitor. Kept the person out of the business for 2 yrs, at a cost of 100k in legal expenses. Justice is expensive.
