Has Moving to a Warm and Sunny Climate Made You Happier?

    NOTABLE! MINDSET
I think of the story of the old man sitting at the city gate. A traveler comes up and asks about the people who live there. The old man asks what the people were like where they came from. The traveler tells the old man that they are terrible -- thieves, murderers, etc. The old man tells them to...

We just got home from a 12-day vacation. It was lovely. This week I’m gonna: 1. Catch up on all the bookkeeping from when we were gone. 2. Weather permitting, set the trusses for the shed roof on our on-site rehab project. We’ll be using our crane to lift them in place. 3. Start collecting...

The equipment is NOT that expensive. And neither is the software. So I bought what I needed. I figure I might as well try it. If I'm not happy with my performance, I can always hire it out.

I didn't think I needed to do research either. But as I'm developing my ideas for the audiobook I'm working on, I've been doing research on some of the ideas I've been working through. I wrote and published 2 books a couple of years ago. The audio version of the main book will be twice as long...

I LOVE the new writing tools. Grammarly, Word, Chat... There are just so many things I can use to help me write better. I write a segment and then copy it into Chat to get comments. Chat can help me with the editing. I'm doing to the writing. I'm using Chat and the net for additional research...

I have done different types of writing over the years. In my old life, I was a commercial real estate appraiser. I write 100+ page technical reports. I have also been an expert witness in real estate matters. I have written many legal reports. And I published a couple of non-fiction books a...

OUR NEW PROJECT: We’ve finished putting the metal roofing on 3 sections of the building. It was a huge summertime project, and we just finished it. Last week, my husband used our bulldozer to pull a few more old vehicles and parts out of the wood. I got another roll-off dumpster delivered for...

Good for you. I always tell the people around me, "Today is all you've got!" Yesterday is always gone. Tomorrow never gets here. I try to make every minute count. I almost died from kidney failure when I was young. I was always going to be happy when X happened. My doctors said I had 2 weeks...

Has Moving to a Warm and Sunny Climate Made You Happier?

We had a really hard freeze last night. It got my pea plants. We've had fresh, eat-all peas all summer. And winter is coming soon. We've been splitting firewood in the evenings and stacking it. I have a bunch of projects lined up for this winter. I'll finish writing my audiobook and record it. I...

My point exactly. If you don't like it, move. You have 2 feet. You don't know what I've lived through in my life. I don't drink, so I would find something else to do. You obviously have internet. The whole world is right there waiting for you. You could launch a personal learning program and...

I cut my teeth 50 years ago in the real estate business in Los Angeles ghettos, working with gang bangers. So I know a little bit about rough environments. Now I live in Alaska, where the weather is extreme. I believe that you find whatever you look for, no matter where you are. I believe...

I have lived in different places. If it floats your boat, then go. I just found that I had to take myself with me wherever I moved. I have learned that I can thrive whereever I am planted.

Why are you letting this mood happen? My days are also getting shorter. That's reality. Life has seasons, with or without my approval.
