I've Read The Great Rat-Race Escape!

    GOLD! HOT!
I've heard it (Audible), and it prompted me to re-listen to Unscripted and TMFL again. It was cool to hear the same narrator from a previous book along with MJ in the TGRRE.

A domain I registered in 2006 just sold for US$89,500!

    EXECUTION
I’m doing a lot of SaaS and newer sounding domains combining words that would be good for anything from identity verification to sales. Mostly .com that haven’t been registered before or have dropped recently or gone up for auction due to expiring. Finally dipped my toes into a more pricey...

A domain I registered in 2006 just sold for US$89,500!

    EXECUTION
I forgot to update this thread and say the deal was legitimate. It took a few weeks for the wire transfer to come through. The first info my bank told me to supply didn't work. Then the second time around since I'm in Canada the bank waited to convert USD to CAD and had it sitting in their...

That's too bad about GoDaddy. I've never been that impressed with them right from the beginning. They have been just ok to deal with from a small consumer perspective (a few domains here and there). It seems they really dropped the ball on your deal if they didn't even get the funds upfront...

Sorry to hear that. I thought it had already been a done deal? I ended up going with Dan.com. Seems like things went through fairly quick as they already have the funds somehow and it’s just a matter of figuring out how to wire it to my bank in Canada.

A domain I registered in 2006 just sold for US$89,500!

    EXECUTION
In these uncertain times I just wanted to share my excitement with you all. I have to say the catalyst for this outcome is partially due to me following a thread a while back here...

So WTF are NFTs all about? Buying JPGs? Why can't you just right-click save? Is this a giant ponzi? Far from it...

    HOT! CRYPTO
That's really interesting about domain names in the .ETH space. But I gather they don't resolve in the DNS namespace (Internet we are using by default when we are online). I was looking at ENS domains and the gas fee has me all confused. Is there no way to set a maximum for that even if it...

    HOT! CRYPTO
That's hilarious...and you're probably right. That would be a good idea for a company, allowing multiple "investors" to buy bits of an NFT. I was reading another article about someone buying a $500 or so NFT and it disappeared after. It sounded like there may have been copyright as the main...

    HOT! CRYPTO
While I've read through this thread a few times and still don't quite get the value here of owning an NFT, I stumbled across an article that dumbfounded me. It appears the pet rock is alive and well in 2021...

Fastlaning a concept with no income stream

If it's free and saves lives, could you not do it as a voluntary donation system? I know if something/someone saved my life or someone I cared about, I'd be happy to make a donation toward the effort that lead to it.

    SIDE HUSTLE
Sounds like an awesome opportunity. Are you going to be working at all with Laravel in the near future? I'm a former PHP/MySQL guy looking to understand Laravel and MVC better.

What does it mean to be an entrepeneur?

    OFF-TOPIC
I would say it is a person who finds solutions to problems, and makes a business out of it. I think one of the things that has resonated with me the most from MJ's books is to provide value rather than chasing money. It seems most "entrepreneurs" fall into the trap of chasing the all mighty...

    I've Read UNSCRIPTED!

    GOLD! HOT!
I've read Unscripted, and having a second full listen through now (Audible). It's amazing how much new stuff I have picked up the second time through. Is there going to be a new thread and profile tag for Escaping the Rat Race?

I've read TMF, and now I know how people get it tagged on their profile - this thread :)

Need an Accountability Partner? Find One Here...

    HOT! MEETUPS
Looking for an accountability partner - someone interested in SaaS (Software as a Service). It would be nice if they are in B.C. Canada as I will be incorporating something soon and I know different jurisdictions have different requirements so it would be helpful if they are going through the...

Years of learning, now time to engage in actual process

    INTRO
Good advice - get started and see how it goes, then adjust from there. I'll have to see if there are any like-minded individuals on this forum that would like to help keep each other accountable. I have a hunch this forum will be good for that.

Opinion on the creation of a web structure

    PEOPLE
I see. There are many ways to accomplish this. Depending on which services will be offered there may be ready-built solutions you can draw on to build it (or adapt for your needs). Although I'm not a huge fan of WordPress, it does seem to be one of the most popular solutions. Using themes...

Opinion on the creation of a web structure

    PEOPLE
By a web structure I'm not clear what you mean... Web site? Web platform? App? Have you investigated ways to accomplish your end product such as similar web sites that are built in Laravel, CodeIgniter, Python, or something like that?
