    Did I make a mistake?

Thanks for the interest! The software is targeting the screen printing/embroidery/DTG industry but the back end is designed to be generic so I think there is some features you can utilize. In it's present state, here's what the software can do for your business: Create an account for yourself...

    Did I make a mistake?

Just a quick update. I never had the meeting with the competitor due to our schedules not being able to line up. Also, I'm happy to say the platform is in beta and I will be demo-ing it to a user who signed up next week!

How to Promote a Product Effectively?

    MARKETING
I think you just need time to the brand out there. Maybe bribe customers for an honest review and a picture of your product in their home with their dogs? That'll give other customers proof and something to relate to as well.

How to Promote a Product Effectively?

    MARKETING
Can you use your ecommerce sales as leverage to get into small retailers? Is your branding strong? If it's not and you might just look like another rando Alibaba dog bowl. Strong branding will separate you from the herd. ECommerce is saturated and products need a strong emotional appeal to...

    8 failures and still learning...

    NOTABLE! EXECUTION
Have you considered raising your prices and implementing an affiliate/reseller program to help you scale? Ie, I sell your software to a business, I get some kind of kick back. Could be monthly revenue share, one time fee, etc. This way you can basically hire comp only sales people.

    Did I make a mistake?

I get it, business is business. I don't see the reward being worth the risk for me. I may opt out.

    Did I make a mistake?

I wasn't looking necessarily to sell the product. I just wanted to get market feedback. I could have done it with an email marketing campaign as well. Looking back, I should have done an email campaign first and then the reddit post second as a last resort. At any rate, I'm still happy with the...

Yeah I have the same feeling. I'm going to schedule the call for late next week so I have time to prepare. I'll update this thread after the chat.

Yes, this is where I was getting at. Put the customers needs first and you will get what you want -- their business. There are so many people selling websites. Few sell business solutions (which may mean creating a website). What are your customers needs? Take a look at their storefront. Is it...

I agree with the comments above. Maybe adjusting your sales approach would help. I can see why this approach wouldn't work You: I'd like to make your business a website Customer: no thanks, sounds expensive. I can see why this approach might work You: I specialize in helping small businesses...

    Did I make a mistake?

Haha, that'd be an interesting call for sure. I'll update once we chat but as of now I intend to keep going. Thanks for the reply!

    Did I make a mistake?

Thanks for the response. Yes, I believe you're correct. Judging by the roles they are hiring for, they are established and just keeping tabs. Keep your enemies closer is the first thing that came into mind. Thanks for the encouragement!

I think you may be violating the commandment of entry here. Learning web design is tough but realistically someone can become proficient at creating small business websites in 1-3 months. I think your problem is that your market is saturated and you're probably not delivering enough value...

    Did I make a mistake?

Hi All, So I recently started creating a SaaS application after noticing a gap in an emerging service industry. First I created a landing page with the value proposition, after which I began creating the actual application. Fast forward a few weeks and I now have a demo-able application to...

What payment gateways to use? And general website dev stuff

From what I have seen, most merchants are very aware of where their businesses spend money. They absolutely pay attention to the percentages and most will prefer a flat rate monthly charge. That said some models just lend better to platform fees. What ever you do I would encourage you to do it...

What payment gateways to use? And general website dev stuff

Using platform fees is a great way to add creative pricing strategies. I've integrated with stripe a few times and I use them in my consulting practice for invoicing. Overall I've been happy with their service from a customer and dev perspective. Good luck!
