Which job should you pursue until you can live from entrepreneurship

    SIDE HUSTLE
One other option could be to work a very easy job that just hardly keeps you afloat. Think anything similar to what a student would do (20 hours per week at a bookshop or something like that). In this way you'll have plenty of time and energy left to work on your business.

"New Study Destroys Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 Hour Rule"

    MINDSET
"Range" by David Epstein is an interesting read on this topic. Essentially, the author argues that the 10,000 hour rule only applies for fields where there is a very specific set of rules. Think chess, classical music, tennis and so on an so forth. The less specific the set of rules becomes...

    If You Were A Moderator

    HOT!
I would delete the men's room section. I do understand where you were coming from by trying to limit these kinds of discussions to a specific section. However, I feel like creating that section has in fact encouraged people to write more about this kind of "men talk" to the point where the...

    What’s your Meaning of Life?

    MINDSET
Share my ideas through writing, live a calm and peaceful life, spend time with the loved ones, experience nature. I no longer feel the obligation to make a huge impact or accumulate a lot of wealth or whatever. A peaceful life where I can make a little difference for a few people through my...

Should I Get A Job Or Freelance?

    SIDE HUSTLE
Well, then you've just answered your own question ;)

Should I Get A Job Or Freelance?

    SIDE HUSTLE
And why is that? As an employee, you work full time for one client. As a freelancer, you split your time between a bunch of clients. There is nothing inherently better with being a freelancer. Both trade their time for money.

Should I Get A Job Or Freelance?

    SIDE HUSTLE
Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here? The Cheshire Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to. Alice: I don't much care where. The Cheshire Cat: Then it doesn't much matter which way you go

In my opinion, videos are the best way to get new customers into the email list. What do you think?

    MARKETING
Like with all things, it depends... For certain products, target audiences etc. video can be a fantastic channel. But again, that depends on many factors. Generally, I would follow this priniciple: you try different channels, see what works best, and then invest your resources into that channel.

Failure is almost guaranteed if you ignore this one simple truth

Lol. Nice simile. Monogamy in business...

Slight depression/bore moving from working IN the business to ON the business

    MINDSET
This is very common: coming from a technical background spending most of your time doing something you know and enjoy towards doing things you are inexperienced with and don't particularly enjoy. Gerber's "The E-Myth" should be helpful.

Why does everyone want to get there so fast?

    NOTABLE! MINDSET
This. Reminds me of the quote: "Most people overestimate what can be done in a year and underestimate what can be done in 10 years". Slow, steady and continous growth over time leads to the most powerful results. Rushing forward while being fear-driven isn't the way forward. Focusing on the...

Graduating Soon - Bullshit Degree - My Thoughts, and My Plan

    INTRO
I like what I read. You seem to be taking the right steps. Go for the entry level jobs and build your business slowly and steadily. Quit your job once it covers the bills. There is a big trend now towards making drastic changes like quitting your job and moving to Thailand while only having...

    MEETUP IN GERMANY NEAR NORDRHEIN-WESTFALEN

    MEETUPS
Looks like Düsseldorf or Köln are the most logical options. Should we make a calendar with some proposed times and then see when most people are available ?

If you could only pass on one life lesson to everyone on this forum, what would it be?

    NOTABLE! MINDSET
Not to feel entitled. Understand that in order to GET something, you must first put in the necessary EFFORT. When that connection is missing in your mind, then you have a serious problem. You will do things for which you haven't earned yourself the right of doing just yet. Examples: -...

20 years old, planning to quit uni and move to Thailand to work on business

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE
@TimTheCoder I've actually taken the time now to have a little bit of a closer look at your app. The design is very nice. But it is very counter-intuitive to use. I was trying to create a quiz/survey and had no idea how to complete it. Also, it is very misleading that the quizzes are...

20 years old, planning to quit uni and move to Thailand to work on business

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE
If you your business can easily be brought to $1000 a month, then you can just do that in your current situation with no drastic changes needed in your environment. Once you have made it to $1000 / month (which is enough to cover your costs in Thailand), then you can move freely. Nobody here...

This. Teach your brain that you first need to work to get what you want. Once you have DONE it, then you have the freedom to move wherever you want.
