Take it: Six-figure local service opportunity (Better than copywriting!)

    IDEA EXECUTION
100% agree. I installed an Apex water system in my house and it really wasn't that big of a deal. Buy a $20 diamond drill bit off of Amazon and follow instructions and you're in business. The system I got makes my city water taste 1000% better.

Will this side hustle make me money or a big headache?

    SIDE HUSTLE
Could you build your own oven out of foam insulation and an electric cooking stove heating element (and controls)? I saw a YouTube video of a guy that built one like that for pretty cheap. Also, if the business doesn't work out, you could just resell the oven on eBay or something and get most of...

I have $30 in my bank account and no savings. How do I stop sucking with money?

    MINDSET
Get a steady job for now. Trying to start a business while broke is going to be difficult without having any money and it takes time for a business to get off the ground. Get a job, then continue with your web design thing on the side.

How To Use The Worsening Labor Shortage To Your Advantage?

    QUESTION
So right out of trade school knowing this kind of stuff, there are people making $35/hour. I get paid $27/hour, but I don't have any degree in it (only the Udemy courses) which doesn't seem super great, but its pretty much the best pay in the area and the company has awesome benefits. A common...

How To Use The Worsening Labor Shortage To Your Advantage?

    QUESTION
As someone who lives in a very blue collar area and works in a factory as an automation technician, I agree that automation is the future (although I'm pretty biased). As our factory expands, we are continually automating more and more and we are severely struggling with finding people to...

You get paid based off of a specific result, (finished product, delivered service, etc) not necessarily how much time or effort you put in.

    Bringing Back U.S. manufacturing

    EXECUTION SOURCING
I agree with the previous statement about the US needing to focus more on robotics and automation to stay competitive. I'm actually an industrial automation technician for a dairy product manufacturing company. I think food products and large bulky products are something that the US could...

Plant Money Trees By Making SYSTEMS

    GOLD! EXECUTION
Great post. I'll, add: since most systems happen repeatedly on a set schedule or after certain events happening, it would be beneficial to use a cmms. A cmms is like a to-do list and calendar on steroids and it's what factories use to keep track of maintaining everything in the plant. I...

It's a great day to be alive

    GOLD! MINDSET
So true, great post. A few days ago, there was a major wind storm in my area. My dad's largest grain bin got crushed and we didn't have electricity for 3 days. It's funny how we take things like electricity for granted when we walk into a room and flip on a switch.

Corn prices have almost doubled since 2020 Edit: scratch that, prices have more than doubled as of today

    The Ukraine War, implications, outcome?

    HOT! CHAT
The Ukraine is a big ag commodity exporter. With the war disruption added on top of COVID, grain commodity prices are higher than my dad has ever seen in his 60 years of farming.

Life domains + Goal setting = The Life You Want

    NOTABLE! MINDSET
Yeah, this is true and similar to how I'm setting up my own life. I've categorized the different aspects of my life and finally feel that in my late 20's, I'm finally getting things dialed in. (Getting ripped, relationships, good financial situation, etc)

Going to school for a trade vs. marketing

    OFF-TOPIC
I agree with going for a trade skill. I feel like trades are super underrated, in high demand and the competition is pretty weak compared to marketing/white collar jobs where competition is fierce and there are many people fighting for only a few jobs. Just pick a trade where you could...

For sure, my brother in law does something similar to this as he does all remote work doing tax accounting for corporations making like $60/hr. He lives like a king out here with a nice place on the lake. It's definitely doable, especially now with Covid and companies are getting used to workers...
