Wellness/Biohacking/Recovery Centers (Business Model) - What Are Your Thoughts?

    QUESTION
His space must really be tight if he can't fit in another cold plunge. And he is busy if he needs two. A plunge of longer than 3 minutes is a heroic dose at 40 to 42 degrees. FWIW my brother refers to his $200,000 cryo chambers as loss leaders. This field is dangerous territory for me...

How not to get ripped off going to college...

    NOTABLE! SIDE HUSTLE
I disagree with this advice. If you have not worked in a field you most likely have no concept of the reality of working in that field. I have observed personal or close family member (self/child/sibling/in-law) experience in the following fields where a person thought they had passion for the...

Wellness/Biohacking/Recovery Centers (Business Model) - What Are Your Thoughts?

    QUESTION
This is an interesting business although not particularly fastlane. My brother owns 3 locations of a franchise business in this space. My area does not have the population to support that particular franchise, and I don't want to be on the hook for 7 figures startup cost. I have toyed with...

What improved your life so much that you wish you did it sooner?

    GOLD! HOT!
    1. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I have been practicing for over 3 years, 4 classes per week. There is something about a combat sport which allows full-on sparring. It is like nothing else that I have ever done. My body never feels better than immediately after a class. It is a tremendously deep...

    HOT! CHAT
Win or lose, I get tremendous benefits from sparring in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. For those of you who are unfamiliar, BJJ does not allow striking, so you can spar at 100% without risk of head trauma. I am 62 years old and the only time of the day when I am not feeling pain is when I am on the...

    Vent about the fastlane formula

    GOLD! HOT!
You have a lack of perspective which comes with your immaturity. Don't take it personally, I was the same way. It's normal. Remember when you were a little kid and your world revolved around Pokemon cards or some kind of toy or whatever the hell you were into at the moment? Those things seem...

First Mini Exit and Retirement on $500k. Possible?

    HOT! INVESTING
$2000 per month. That will get you a nice apartment with a water view in Hanoi or Danang, along with a very comfortable lifestyle. Not a big swinging dick Westerner lifestyle, but a comfortable far above average lifestyle. I would get a part time gig teaching English or BJJ, immerse myself...

My fingers say that I should ease off on spider guard, but it plays so well into my grippy old man game. I have more fun with spider and lasso nowadays than almost anything else.

And get wooden shoe trees, typically cedar with no finish on the wood. Shoes need to be on the trees as they dry in order to keep their proper shape. If they are not on your feet then they should be in the shoe trees. Two pairs of dress shoes is the minimum if you wear dress shoes every day...

Truth. If you want to be dismissed as a lightweight jerkoff just dress like one when you meet with others. Dressing poorly shows disrespect.

It's almost universal. The wearer either doesn't know what the sleeve length should be or says "close enough". It's not close enough. It's probably way too long. There is a reason that the sleeve buttons for most good-quality suits come in a plastic bag which is in an inside suit jacket pocket.

Then take the next step and have an experienced tailor alter the suit to fit you perfectly. Once you reach at least adequate on the quality scale, and these JAB suits reach that, remember the cardinal rule of dressing well (applies especially to suits) : Fit trumps quality. The vast majority...

How often do you guys exercise?

    FTE HEALTH
Exactly. I took the Firas philosophy as being especially applicable to martial arts. In BJJ, of course, the goal is to develop technique. Lighter training allows more training days, which allows more experience developing techniques. Firas makes the point in a sensible way that anyone would...

You might be surprised at how easy it is to get into the habit of wearing a sport coat as your go to lightweight jacket. And people will look at you differently. Side note: If you can handle the $700+ price you can't go wrong with the Alden 986 Leisure Handsewn Loafer in Color #8. It's a...

Sounds like business competition to me. Improvise, adapt, overcome. If you can't handle competition then maybe business is not for you.

What is the step-by-step process for creating a clothing collection, from a simple idea to the manufacture of prototypes?

    IDEA
It is a brutal market. Brooks Brothers has filed for bankruptcy. That is a 202 year old company. Oversaturated is a good description at every level: there are endless companies chasing the market and the average person actually doesn't need any more clothing. If the OP would go to the...
