I sought advice for the US and then did it myself through http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/ I looked at the worldwide one but it seemed really complicated and most of the countries on it I would never be going to so I am just doing the countries I know we will end up.- Get Threaded

Agree with @jazb . That is what I have done. I thought about how I wanted the product I had in mind made, sourced a supplier that made items from the same material and sent them an image of what I had in mind- either hand sketched or dummied up.- Get Threaded
