    Self-Directed IRA / Self Dealing

    Hi there. I will shortly be joining a Board of Advisors (not a Board of Directors, so so fiduciary duties) of a start-up I am mentoring. Can I put the equity I would receive (it would be very small, like sub-5%) in a self-directed IRA, or would that be considered "self-dealing"?
