Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
It basically comes down to this. There are those who will say "just outsource it" because that's the shortcut. They may have made a decent amount of money off this tactic. They didn't do nearly as well when they tried it themselves. They outsourced it, which will bring outsourcing results. You...

Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
Just as an FYI I've been through the whole "Just hire someone" bullshit you've given advice for and from MY experience it's complete BULLSHIT. I've been through so many subcontractors on FIVERR and UPWORK and ELANCE I could shit them out of my eyeballs and paid them so much money I could have...

Looking for advice for a slam dunk

    MINDSET
Frustration on Fiverr. Over a month wasted, and weeks wasted on another freelancer. I've learned to spread out the requests. I could have almost learned this shit on my own. People who advocate "just hire someone" --- no one cares as much as you do about your project. I could have learned myself...

hey daddy.. i want a 4wheeler with settlement money

Yup. It doesn't matter what age you are, you can always have this mentality. I was speaking with one of my friends who now makes almost twice as much as me, years ago I was the one making more. He was telling me how he was "doing ok" but doesn't have as much as he should saved up. He purchased...

Why Facebook is a Joke (And various social media/smartphone insanity)

    NOTABLE! HOT! MARKETING
There's been some research on this and our memories don't recall filmed or events that we take pictures of nearly as well as without them. http://www.psychologicalscience.org/index.php/news/releases/no-pictures-please-taking-photos-may-impede-memory-of-museum-tour.html I admit I've taken...

Dealing with customers who don't wanna pay you

    PEOPLE
If someone comes to my house to replace my siding and asks for 100% payment up front I'd be very uneasy about this person and would likely skip over them. I'd be willing to pay for materials up front and the rest once I'm satisfied and the work is completed. This is industry standard in home...

Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
I asked a similar question a while back and have had a while to think about this (although a different skill set) since I'm in the same position (and have had some experience going through this currently). Ultimately I decided to pay for a freelancer(s) but I can afford one while also learning...

    HOT! MINDSET
That's just an excuse to not do anything. There will always be times that you have decisions to make between different ideas, different career paths, different things that can impact your life profoundly and people get tied up and cave under the pressure and become indecisive. The irony is that...

Why Facebook is a Joke (And various social media/smartphone insanity)

    NOTABLE! HOT! MARKETING
Anyway to branch out? As tempting as it is I don't want to rely on FB for building an audience. Primarily because I know it won't last forever and once it goes down, your business will go down with it.

Should I dump my 11 year old business and start over?

Computer repair isn't what it used to be. Prices are so cheap now for new computers if you have overhead its impossible to make a lot with just repair or selling them unless you sell TONS of them (like HP, Lenovo, etc.). I'm assuming your already doing smartphone/tablet screen repair. That's a...

Hey man, thank you for fostering. I had no idea how overwhelmed dog shelters are and how many are euthanized until about a year ago. Sometimes I think about how you could make a system that's profitable for shelters instead of relying on donations. I found out because my brother-in-law kept a...

Is it possible to become a Fastlane musician?

    HOT! MINDSET
You could always pursue the DJ route and if it doesn't pan out use your insiders knowledge to identify a need, pain point, or gap in the market that needs servicing, or a way to do it better. For example your stuck making a decision by trying to make it big through doing tons of work as a...

Multi million dollar idea comes to life

    IDEA
One thing I've noticed about them (at least the one I go to) is the customer service is insane. They have tons of employee's to make sure everyone is taken care of right away. I can't even walk down the walkway without running into 3-4 of their employee's asking me if everything is good.
