The visual illusion versus the hidden truth...

Yep...I remember when around 2008 a hustler told me, 'look around this restaurant, 4 out of 5 people here live on their credit cards'. Everyone, everyone, everyone wants illusions. We want our dreams fulfilled, acted out. When reality is bestowed upon us, the realiza.... rationalizations help...

    What do the Doers Do?

    MINDSET
SteveO glad to hear things are working out, your tenacity had been an inspiration for years for me. I remember Adam Carolla saying this in his book. "For years, this door in my parent's house was broken. For probably a decade plus. It wasn't because no one could fix it. It was because no one...

The Value of Things (And Why I Don't Drive a Lambo)

    OFF-TOPIC
Ive seen some of the most expensive neighborhoods in the country. It's a lot of Acuras, SUVs and dependable vehicles, and some bmw's benzes once in awhile. I say people with 3-10mil homes don't really have to impress anyone with a 80k car.

    Kindle Unlimited and Everything Else

    PUBLISHING
Rainy did you advertise on Kboards? People look for covers there all the time. KU slashed my income in half I'd venture to say. But the basics are still there. I'm adjusting and going to break my previous record.

    Adult Coloring Books... Trending.

    HOT!
About a month ago I asked on a writer's forum 'what do you use to relax your brain?' and a good percentage of people suggested adult coloring books. I looked into it on my iphone, downloaded a few of them. I have to say - it doesn't work on the phone. The real deal has to be done with a pencil...

HOW DO I SERIOUSLY GIVE UP GAMING

    GOLD! MINDSET
Great observations MJ, very spot on. I've been gaming heavily for the last 2 months. I have some passive income so I didn't need to work if i didn't want to, and I downloaded a few games to see if my macbook would even handle them, and it did. But it was obvious i was gaming more than was...

    OFF-TOPIC
Did you take a look at the article I linked? It made the whole thing seem like a ponzi scheme - they needed the fresh blood to keep the big players going. Now I'd like something to be done about the lottery.

How to make a decision and stick with it.... ?

    MINDSET
Good topic. It is an amazing feeling of clarity and choosing to open the door and close all others that don't fit, isn't it? For me what helped is meditation - and I do it MAYBE twice a week on and off. But sometimes after 15 mins or so I'll let all thoughts go, and from somewhere will come...

Right, well that implies your content has to be engaging. Meaning the idea of just posting pics goes out the window, unless the pics speak to users on a visceral level. I've been Feeling out the instagram ecosystem just to understand what this beast is. It is a social network, and the social...
