Software in my industry doing $1M+/mo.

    EXECUTION
Thanks Freedom61 - not exactly my situation, but some broad similarities. This is not my shot at making money, it's a home for some I've already made, and I like that it's got people and machinery (although it is more capital intensive than I'd like). I'm happy to put in a day a week, two days...

Improving Yourself, Everyday. What Are Your Habits?

    MINDSET
Know your strengths and weaknesses, what's easy and what's hard for you. Exploit the strengths, shore up the important weaknesses. I'm doing well at the moment tracking '$1000 per hour time' (80/20 Sales and Marketing by Perry Marshall) and buying myself sushi for lunch if I've already clocked...

Is Selling Shovels Always a Better Idea?

    IDEA
Someone's got to be digging - not everyone can sell shovels! I know what's rational for YOU is the most important thing, but eventually selling shovels looks a lot like the latest goldrush in any case. I read Getty's autobiography a while ago and was struck by the fact that his success came...

    Thanks ICK, great thread.

    Internet addiction

    MINDSET
I'm much less likely to procrastinate if I'm very clear on my big picture goal, and especially if I am tracking the action I'm taking every day towards it. Squeeze out the time wasting activities by doing worthwhile stuff. 'Trying to stop XYZ' can be like trying not to think about a pink elephant.

    Freedom vs. Children

    NOTABLE! PEOPLE
Timezone... I'm a dad, remember, so I had to be very restrained - no drunken typing ;)

    Freedom vs. Children

    NOTABLE! PEOPLE
Ummm, that athlete only needed ONE vasectomy to prevent 1000 babies. It's insurance - people don't get rich by getting multiple policies on their car, they do it once and they're covered against nasty happenings. Anyway, have a great New Year all.

    Freedom vs. Children

    NOTABLE! PEOPLE
Humor! Try investing in multiple vasectomies to increase your net worth by $244K a time ;)

A vasectomy fails as a Fastlane investment, on scalability at least! I'm not going to get into the other aspects e.g. need ;)

    Freedom vs. Children

    NOTABLE! PEOPLE
Not trying to be disrespectful, just to provoke some thought and discussion! It's a different perspective from some, and as I said it's been my journey and a source of some regret to me that I changed my views comparatively late. I think the Fastlane / Slow lane / Dead end angle is very...

    Freedom vs. Children

    NOTABLE! PEOPLE
The original post made me think of a CS Lewis quote - paraphrasing, he said that kids can't imagine anything better than chocolate because they don't know yet about the sex impulse (he was making a bigger point of course). I was once the 'I will not let kids get in the way of my enormous...

    Collecting 762k in X Months?

    EXECUTION
Sell the debt to someone, or get a debt collector working on it for a share (if you get anything more than 30% I think you'd be doing well although I have no knowledge about Albania whatsoever)

What business would you buy/start in a developing country to generate income?

I don't have a handle on Serbia's level of prosperity, but I imagine capital is relatively limited there? If so, there are probably lots of opportunities to finance other people in their businesses e.g. bankroll them for a 20-50% stake. If I were investing there I'd want a good return from the...

Need to know a bit more about the country eg what sort of 'developing', what are the key risks, stability etc? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Freedom61, I just logged in to see who'd talked about landscaping companies - can't believe you posted this yesterday! I'm not in the United States, and I'm looking for a business to buy in my town (70k population, 150k in the region). I met with a guy recently to see his business, which...
