Lex DeVille's: 15 Days to Freedom - Make Money Copywriting in 15 Days or Less

    GOLD!
I think I mailed around 600 and about $8000 in work booked. As far as the proposal, just imagine you were whoever it is you're pitching to and think what would you want to hear? Understand your target audience and their desires, motives, etc. Use your copywriting skills to get business yourself.

Eliminate this one thing for BOUNDLESS ENERGY

    HEALTH
Headline got me to click, so it wasn't horrible. The paragraphs were way too short. I do believe in keeping them short, but one sentence per paragraph is pushing it. I'd start with a story of how you struggled with it and you found a secret then talk about what you were able to achieve with...

Lex DeVille's: 15 Days to Freedom - Make Money Copywriting in 15 Days or Less

    GOLD!
I started on there but quickly moved off. Create a website and begin marketing yourself. Make some YouTube videos or something along that line to position yourself as an expert. Cold email, send a direct mail campaign, whatever. One thing I did was cold email Clickbank product owners and pitch...

    Part 1:Learning to program

    EXECUTION
This is not meant to discourage you, but learning programming to try and get a job in a month and a half is quite a challenging task. Not saying it can't be done though. Just keep at it.

    GOLD!
Respectfully, I disagree. I never meant to try and be exactly like that copywriter - but study a legend and learn all you can from them and move on to the next. Your copy will improve. I'm not trying to be like Gary Halbert, but rather learn all I can from him to perfect my craft. I...

Lex DeVille's: 15 Days to Freedom - Make Money Copywriting in 15 Days or Less

    GOLD!
Honestly? If you're a good enough copywriter you'll have no issue finding more clients then you can handle. There's a massive demand for copywriters, but Upwork and the real world are two totally different ball games. Create a direct mailing campaign, that's what I did at first and use your...

How to not blow your Skype interviews.

    MARKETING
I agree with OP, it's been my experience that people LOVE talking about themselves and their business. So let them. Ask them about why they started it and they'll go on forever while developing a relationship with you. My only issue with Skype interviews with clients is that I usually look like...

The REAL Price of Starting a Website...

Why don't people use things like Squarespace or Wordpress? I set up my site on these. It took only a few hours and I built a gorgeous site with no prior experience. Pretty sure you can build a forum off Wordpress.

    Charging More?

    MARKETING
Completely agree in quoting a fixed and not hourly rate in whatever and then simply becoming proficient at doing it faster. I forgot where I read it (Frank Kern maybe?) but people ultimately pay you according to how much value they feel you can provide. If you position yourself as someone...

Unconventional ways of finding a Job

LinkedIn is crazy powerful, I just started using it for my business and it's insane. Whether you're looking for a job or to expand your business LinkedIn is such an advantage.

Unconventional ways of finding a Job

Stand out. Mail your resume to whoever has hiring powers through FedEx overnight and demonstrate how you can empower the team and make the company money. You have to realize that each hire is a big risk, training costs alone on a new employee are up there. Do the best you can to prove the risk...

You Need A Web Application, I Need A Portfolio

    WEB/DIGITAL
I need a web application that can help grocery stores manage expiration dates and alert them when a product is about to expire so they can put it on sale and avoid having to throw out the product, ultimately saving money. Not only would this make a fantastic case study in your portfolio that is...

Update: Change in Attitude (And where my Gold Thread went)!

    EXECUTION
The only issue with subcontracting is the level of complexity of it all, the IRS is so strict on it. From what I understand, you can't really dictate what the subcontracter should even do. It does seem viable, but I'm on the fence with it.

    The crowd isn't starving

    MARKETING
Agreed, coaching was just the first thing that came to my mind to use as an example that the amount of copy needed to sell a product or service is all relative to that product or service. You make a great point though.

    The crowd isn't starving

    MARKETING
Agreed. I also think it's all relative to the product as well. For example, selling a bar of soap? Keep it to a few sentences, no one will read any more. Selling a high priced coaching program? A few pages at least if it's a sales letter.

    The crowd isn't starving

    MARKETING
I firmly believe that the more you tell, the more you sell. It's been a debate for ages - people back then were equally busy yet made time to read long copy. Make it intriguing enough and you won't have to worry about losing their attention.
