Wow… that’s awesome! You make it sound so easy - was it easy with the business side of things?

Ah ok - makes sense now! That’s cool about the business - I’m guessing you had someone else helping to move them? As long as the insurance is all in place that does sound like good pay indeed Not sure if it’s comparable enough but my dad’s an electrician and also earns quite a lot from not...

Wait what do you mean you don't play piano if you have one and have tried so many?

Just for the record, I don't do that with most pieces, not for any particular reason but simply because I've been lazy with my mind in that respect, but yeah that one time the teacher I had asked me to do that - which did take me several weeks mind you, as I wasn't doing the memorisation work...

Yo thanks!! Glad you like it! Don’t worry it’s definitely within my reach - it’s been a big challenge to learn but I’m getting there, and will be performing it in March in a concert.

Ah cool - they're all nice pieces. I remember a while back my teacher told me to learn that Bach invention from memory without ever playing it until I had it memorised - just reading from the score. It's a good practice to do with pieces. Currently learning Tchaikovsky piano concerto No. 1...

The piano I have (in my profile pic) is a Yamaha C3, made quite a long time ago but it was hardly played by its owners so it was in good condition when we got it. It's got a nice action and sound - not perhaps as heavy action as some of the Kawai pianos tend to have, but with good weight. The...

Yeah I agree that I am probably rather biased to how I feel it to be rather than what most people feel - I bought uniqlo's airism one, but found it irritating - a part of it had the same effect as a seam. I've also bought another 'seamless' one from a different company but it had an annoying...

Thanks for the reply - as my first 'proper' idea I've been thinking about, it's likely to be a bit iffy, so I'll take the time to test the market and if it doesn't work out I'll move to thinking of a different idea.

Still very much in the idea/design stage, but I'm thinking of a design of mens underwear - specifically seamless ones (I find them irritating), since most are not, and even ones which say they are, are not... The main doubt I am having is about how much it would really be wanted, since I'm more...

Letting go of how something 'feels'

    MINDSET
Perhaps you have experienced, sometime or another, not being quite so clingy to being automatically guided by the sensation you relate to a particular thing*. Whether that be allowing the creepy-crawlies to crawl on your foot or leg without flinching, handling some substance like dirty mucky...

So - I was thinking about writing a long piece refuting your points, of which there are many that are easily refutable, but decided it better to leave this particular debate on the wayside. The reason being that I suspect such an exchange would only serve to embolden both our contrasting views...

Or 'The Use Of The Self' by F.M. Alexander. Quite tough reading but shows the vast extent to which he developed the Alexander Technique through relentless self-observation, questioning and conscious constructive control. It won't exactly help one in the sense of learning AT but is very...

Yes I’ll continually be looking into business on the side and I agree that marketing etc. helps a lot for a musician - that’s why an average musician who’s good at marketing could well be earning more than a great one who isn’t good at marketing. Don’t worry I won’t be going down the...

Thanks for those resources- I mainly compose Classical/Romantic era style music, but I would be comfortable with more modern styles as well. That’s great you started composing recently, and likewise with you doing it for personal satisfaction, I do it for that as well - and I kind of think that...

Thanks - going to uni for a music degree will get me into debt, but, although it might sound a bit hopeful and dreamy, I am certain that I shall succeed with business, in which case the debt should be but a fly on the wall (insignificant). I do realise this may be what a lot of people say...

Hi! I’ll have a look into the freelance composing idea for sure - not sure whether I can get to those sort of numbers in pay with so little experience, but could be a good idea. And yes I agree with you on music at college in that it’s not going to make very much money for a musician in their...

I am most definitely aware about the waste of having ideas and not executing them - that’s not a worry for me, and will happen. About college, I have thought about it a lot and realise I do want to go, not because of social pressure but from the inside of me - and remember that In England the...
