Observations From Around the Globe
OFF-TOPICTrue. When I lived there I heard rumours that police cadets would pay those in positions of power to be put in areas where they could make the most money from bribes. I'm pretty sure they see it as something more like a fringe benefit lol. There was also "tea money" The English centre some of...- MattR82

Observations From Around the Globe
OFF-TOPICI knew som Brits in Hanoi that were English teachers. They said the best way to get out of it was by pretending to be Italian and confusing and frustrating them enough that they just let you go - MattR82

HOT! CHATI'm trying to not bring politics into it, so hopefully this is ok, but I recently saw Vivek talk about bringing back mental health institutions to help with this. Makes sense to me. Obviously the institution's back in the day needed huge reform though.- MattR82

What Do You Wear and Why?
OFF-TOPICI have like 20 black t-shirts lol. I also like full sleeve button up linen shirts where I can roll the sleeves up. I normally hate short sleeve button up shirts, the sleeves are usually weird. But in Bali recently I found a store that stock short sleeve button up casual shirts that fit...- MattR82

Observations From Around the Globe
OFF-TOPICHa, I remember being worried about driving on the wrong side of the road, but it's surprising how fast you adapt. Still always walked to the wrong side of the car when I went to jump in though.- MattR82

HOT! CHATAfter 2 years of using pods, it finally happened this morning. Dropped one right out of my ear into a toilet full of piss. Luckily it was only the crappy JBL and not my Jabra's. I'm not making this up because you posted this! It really happened just a few hours ago  Now that I'm used...- MattR82

Observations From Around the Globe
OFF-TOPICI've travelled a lot but never through the US. It actually kind of blows my mind that they don't have true health food stores. I know so many where if you even say the word chemical you would get bounced lol.- MattR82

Passive Monthly / Quarterly Income: My Favorite Money System Assets...
GOLD! INVESTINGI've put 1k to start into interactive brokers. Looking forward to just getting familiar with this over the next few years until the time comes that I can use it as intended in the books. Just look at the percentages rather than the actual dollar amount for now - MattR82

Starting a carpet cleaning business
NOTABLE! HOT! EXECUTIONMy friend owns a TV wall mounting and antenna installation business (also does things like starlink installation and home theatres) and his staff get exactly 50% of the profit they bring in. Plus they have to pay 8k AUD for tool setup, but are given a brand new van they keep with them. Kind of...- MattR82

HOT! CHATI always get the emergency row with leg room usually. About an extra 50 USD each way Jakarta Sydney. Usually there are 2 rows in the middle on smaller planes, but the exit row that is in front of the other one doesn't recline. I always feel so sorry for the newbies that get caught out with that one.- MattR82

HOT! CHATWearing them as I write this.. but my girlfriend has already claimed them as a consolation prize. I'm tired after a bad night sleep and am going back to work for 2 weeks so to be able to lie flat and sleep is going to save me what would have been a hellish 3 days.- MattR82

HOT! CHATI switched to a Qantas NAB signature card 6 months ago and received 120 thousand Qantas points for changing. I have a friend that does this every 2 years and he gets a free return business class flight for his wife and him to Singapore every time so thought screw it, I'll do it. It would have...- MattR82

HOT! CHATI had a look and it's about 5x or just under. The lie flat bed is the main thing I want. I'm used to flying Perth to Europe on long haul 22 hour flights so anything 6 hours and under doesn't worry me. But I really want to do Emirates business class on the A380 on a long haul flights one day...- MattR82
