How Today's Leaders Stay Ahead By Reading

    MINDSET
I couldn't find the original quote - but, "the true sign of an expert is that you can teach what you know to someone else." That means that you're able to explain your craft to another person using their language. Books are excellent at this - although, the good in moderation rule, still applies.

Exactly what I learned from luxury products and sales...

    MINDSET
There was a thread around here (use the search function) saying that the best thing you can do for your business is raise your prices. There's no reason for this reply. I'm just bumping for selfish reasons to see what others are saying because this really resonates with what I do. I despise...

Why so much talk about Ecommerce and AM??

    MINDSET
The "online marketing," "get rich quick," "wantrepreneur" crowd continually cycles between communities and ideas without actually getting anything done. Digital Point -> WaFo -> BHW -> TFLF -> ???. This forum has its fair share of wannabes, but the difference between TFLF and the rest is that...

    Business is not that hard

The beauty of what we do comes from taking complex problems and coming up with a simple solution. I admire those who serve because they have something the rest of us don't. I'm not sure exactly what that is (discipline, endurance, (?)...) , but if 1/3 of the top CEOs come from a similar...

The world has become a dangerous place

    OFF-TOPIC
Anonymous public reporting based on area code/location. Every time a post is made in your area you get an alert on your phone. Similar to flash flooding/amber alert reports that you automatically receive from your provider. 1. Launch free app 2. Lobby gov't for local trial runs, and grants. 3...

Why Do YOU Need a Mentor?

    EXECUTION
Right, you made that very clear in your earlier posts. This is what I missed, I think. You're saying, focus on what will be most effective in moving you forward. Learning and searching for mentor are both valid paths, but self investment is the better of the 2.

Why Do YOU Need a Mentor?

    EXECUTION
What's interesting is seeing someone successful so dead set against needing a mentor. At the same time, other successful people, will swear by one. Maybe this answers the question. You never needed anyone else - especially your successful uncle. If successful people can be wrong, why waste...

B/c in person sales are powerful? Not saying you'll get more sales, and it is slowlane, but I'll be damned if some kid doesn't use his physical "PokeStore" to launch himself into a real business. Plus, you have a greater chance of receiving a C&D, online. Nintendo is known for being incredibly...

    I Made a $8,500 Mistake ... And I didn't get fired.

I've heard stories from friends where their employer would go after the employees if they made costly mistakes. After being fired, of course. IDK about you guys, but "job security," sound like an oxymoron. Why you would place your entire, long term, future in someone else's hands? We...

    money vs morality

    MINDSET
It has been said before in other threads: No one here is going to tell you to do something that would be illegal or would harm other people. But your thread title is also asking about money... 1. Could the gov't pass laws against your product if they could prove the majority of it was used for...

Success eludes those that look for it?

What's normal for one person may not be normal for another, right? What if, some of these people you've researched, just have a giving attitude? Then, out of the BILLIONS on this earth, a small fraction of them will happen to fill a market inefficiency. But all they were doing is just following...

Record number of Americans dump U.S. passports

    EXECUTION
Huh. That's really interesting. Wealth is being transferred and/or created in other locations, and possibly creating a void in the US just waiting to be filled. So now you're looking for, or have found, those early arbitrage opportunities...waiting for the opportunity to execute your plan. Are...

Record number of Americans dump U.S. passports

0.00001% of the pop... I never took statistics in school, but that doesn't seem significant. Unless these people are pulling in hundreds of millions, in which case, where's the ebook on "You won't believe how these hard working Americans made millions by moving abroad, in just 5 easy steps."...
