It does mean something if it's in spite of a "controversy." (However manufactured) Nike knew what they were doing from the get go. Enrage a few people, half of which don't even buy their merch. Let them mob on social media. Then the actual fans of Kaep and the brand would rally behind them...

The way he described it, people would buy around the $17 price marker in the 17 store. So anchoring would be my guess as well. However, he doesn't go into too much detail concerning the science. Plus, many of his studies are behind a paywall. Nike’s online sales actually grew 31% from the...

Just finished Pre-Suasion by Cialdini. This is definitely one you have to listen/read twice. What was striking about this book is that the sale happens before the sale. Just like we used to think you made a sale by the words that come out of your mouth. Only to then discover, 80%+ was body...

The Joe Rogan Experience - Elon Musk

    HOT! MINDSET
There's nothing new here. Just another top level guy who couldn't handle the immense pressure at TSLA. “Since I joined Tesla on August 6th, the level of public attention placed on the company, as well as the pace within the company, have exceeded my expectations,” Morton said in the filing...

    Anybody here a Freemason?

    OFF-TOPIC
That's been one of my biggest takeaways from my research. You have like-minded people who share your values anywhere you go. So making new friends is easier than going to random meetups and other events.

Ali's subconscious made his body move to knock Liston unconscious. im sorry i couldn't resist Subconscious is the part that makes you act without thinking. Like breathing, and sending signals to individual muscles to move. We don't actually know too much about what goes on there, but it's a...

Marijuana / Medical Cannabis Industry and Their Stocks

    HOT! INVESTING
Long hedge $MJ against short tobacco ($MO, $PM, $BTI) if that counts. All on 4/19. Wasn't going to wait that extra day until 4/20. $MO is about to bite me again at 61, but the other 3 are covering well. I'm scared of gov't action to get into any one medical cannabis stock.

Get rid of breads and pastas too if you eat them. Then add in a bowl, one bigger than your head, of leafy greens like spinach for the iron. Do this the night before, for dinner. No later than 10PM. You'll wake up the next morning like coffee is a primitive tool. If you've ever wondered why...

Why most people are WRONG about Cryptocurrency

    CRYPTO INVESTING
I mostly trade so I can't add much. It would be hard to apply Buffetts strategy to crypto. You can take points out, like mass appeal and name recognition. But the biggest hurdle is the lack of history in the crypto market. As well as the blatant, unregulated, manipulation. Thought I agree...

I saw this a decade ago and it still sticks in my mind to this day: TLDR: A guy lost his ability to feel emotion, and when asked to pick where he wanted to eat. Well, after 20 min, he still hadn't made a decision. There's also his book that's been on my reading list for quite some time...
