Moved to Scottsdale, Growing a Web Design Firm

    GOLD!
Hey All, Just wanted to take a moment to really stop and appreciate the current situation that I'm in. I'm my harshest critic so I'll be the first to say I still have a long, long way to go, but things just seem to be coming together really well with my business and I'm so excited for 2019. I...

Hey All, 4K deal closed! CPA just paid the invoice for the 50% deposit. Great way to start 2019 - and I’m excited for this one I see a lot of areas I can really add value with this client and help him out. Since I’ve stated it before on here, the goal is $100k of revenue locked down this...

The quickest way to feel important... and it needs to stop.

    RANT
Great post, especially a great read as we go into the new year and get ready to take our businesses to the next level. What's surprised me after my first year of owning my own business is how much mindset really has to do with success. I did a good job of blocking out the negativity as I left...

Hey All, CPA firm owner I’ve been speaking to on and off again for several months finally got back to me that he’s all set with the 4K budget we discussed. Had a little hesitation at first and he wanted to go lower with the price but I was able to reply effectively thanks to help from @Fox -...

The [SCRIPTED] Vault (Dogmatic Social Engineering)

    NOTABLE!
What's really surprised me since I've started my own business is how irrational people get when you tell them compound interest isn't going to make you rich. Whenever someone hears I own my own business they ALWAYS ask "what are you doing to save for retirement?" ...and then proceed to go...

Fox's 2019 Make $100k Starting Web Design from Scratch Challenge

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Honestly, my first thought when I saw this challenge was "some lucky business owners are going to have no idea what incredible value they're getting for practically no charge" haha! Thanks for the feedback, this is really helpful.

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
@Fox besides a very small percentage, I think almost everyone is uncomfortable behind the camera for videos. It definitely doesn't show though, you seem calm and collected for the content that I've watched. Even though I've been following this challenge in the Facebook groups, I haven't had a...

Have you had your "FTE"? (Or Was it an FTM?!)

    GOLD! MINDSET FTE CHAT
I quit my job to start my own business in November of 2017. My FTE was earlier that year when I was still pretty new at a job at an NYC investment bank that everyone considered a "great" job just because the name of the company and the paycheck. Something seemed off the whole time I was there...

Thanks man! Quick update for what I've been up to the last week or so: 1. CPA Business Website Project: This started out as a cold email from July that's been going back and forth since then. It seems very close to closing (discussed budget of $4,000) for a website update built primarily to...

Elementor has been great for clients that I've worked with. I prefer to use HTML (I've been following Rob's courses and really learned from him)... but some clients are dead set on WordPress (or they're looking for functionality that is much much easier for WordPress than a static site. I even...

    Wall Streets (2nd) Biggest Lie

Haha I didn't make it long enough to get that $300k salary! My first few years at another big investment bank (this one was based in Europe but had offices all over the world) I was in operations. It wasn't until I went to the big US bank that I moved into a front office role but it was very...

    Wall Streets (2nd) Biggest Lie

Haha I wasn’t at GS but one that’s at their level (for my final role where I ran into the awful toxic culture). Had a bunch of friends working there and all of the big banks though. The top investment banks are notorious for “entry level jobs” where you need 3-5 years experience to even have a...

My detailed introduction and my current idea.

    IDEA
Welcome to the inside! I like the idea as well. Especially the component of giving away really high value feedback for free. What are your thoughts on capturing emails in exchange for the free initial review (depending on their gameplay)? Could use something simple like MailCheat(Chimp) that's...

(From CNN) 6 things you can do right now that'll make you rich

Hey MJ, Yep! I'll keep it somewhat anonymous but it's one of the main top global investment banks that everyone knows the name of. Even with how poorly the employees are treated there, sadly, there will be thousands of people always lining up for those jobs because of the company name and the...

(From CNN) 6 things you can do right now that'll make you rich

I'm surprised it didn't say to stop drinking expensive drinks at Starbucks... but seriously, it wasn't until almost 2 years ago that I found MJ's work / this forum and honestly at first, I was pissed off. I was angry that no one ever taught me at an early age that this was an option. All I...
