Ask me anything about eCommerce (Ongoing)

    GOLD!
Like AnneC said, it's likely that they moved. Also, it's a huge mistake to separate your blog/content from your main domain. Ex: if you setup your content site at www.mystore.com but your shopping site at shop.mystore.com - ranking does not carry through across subdomains (although Google...

    We provide excellent CUSTOMER disSERVICE!

    HOT! PEOPLE
Damn - I just switched to private client since BofA is TERRIBLE - echoing @MJ DeMarco on his experiences. I have the cell of my personal banker, but I hope he doesn't turnover as he's been pretty good. It's probably time to go create some personal relationships with smaller banks.

    E-commerce: $100k in one hour

    NOTABLE! HOT! MARKETING
First, we continually write USEFUL content. Think of things like "How to" guides, location guides, and 10 Best Widget guides. Articles that are actually useful and want to be read. We do this to rank organically (SEO) and we also email these articles. Here's an example of our weekly campaign...

    E-commerce: $100k in one hour

    NOTABLE! HOT! MARKETING
Yes. We write a LOT of content, primarily for SEO but also to send to our e-mail list. We make sure to e-mail content (Good, targeted content) that people want to read on a regular basis. We lead with value first, and sales pitches second.

    E-commerce: $100k in one hour

    NOTABLE! HOT! MARKETING
Love that idea - it's pretty amazing some of the levers you can pull that don't cost you much but are very valuable to customers. I'm working on an extended warranty product/upsell for our big ticket items. Amazon is already offering it on our products (argh), so why not do it ourselves?

    air bnb business

    REAL ESTATE
I just bought a home (in a different area) to vacation rent. Your question is really vague. Do a LOT of googling. Read a real estate book or three. And attend your local real estate meet ups. RE is red hot right now and it's very hard to find a good buy in today's market. And no one knows...

    E-commerce: $100k in one hour

    NOTABLE! HOT! MARKETING
I wanted to share something very cool, and very actionable for all the e-com guys here. This doesn't work if you don't have a business or an email/customer list, but it works like CRAZY if: You don't abuse your e-mail list You email often (value driven, you just don't hammer campaigns/sales...

LLC and Corp Formation and Registered Agent Service in all 50 States, Virtual Mailbox, Remote Online Notary Services

    MARKETPLACE
Bobby has been setting up my company structure since 2017 (and has since saved me sports car amounts no taxes). I definitely can recommend these services - and will likely consider switching my virtual mailbox over. Nice work Bobby - excited to see how this goes for you!

First Mini Exit and Retirement on $500k. Possible?

    HOT! INVESTING
It would depend on the business. If I thought I had a good chance of growing the business, I'd keep it. If I was burned out on it, I'd take 2-3 months (hire an employee to do so). Could you retire on $500k in Thailand or Bali? Yes, you could. I was spending $1600/month on a private villa...

    Shopify and payment processing

    EXECUTION
I don't think using Shopify and their payments violates the commandment of control. If Shopify payments doens't work out, there are dozens of others of providers. We run several million through Shopify pay a year, and are very happy with it. Only once have we hit a snag - when we were running...

    Solopreneurs Doing $1M or More...

    GOLD! EXECUTION
Bio pretty much hit the nail in the head. That being said, my goal is definitely not gross related only. I think e-com guys talk gross most of the time (other than it sounds larger than net) is that it's pretty difficult to calculate our actual net until the end of the year. You usually have a...

    Solopreneurs Doing $1M or More...

    GOLD! EXECUTION
My warehouse is in the USA. Most of my team is remote (customer service, content writers/editors, link builders, PPC guys, etc.). My warehouse employee(s) will obviously be at the warehouse in the states. I did have an operations manager who was remote, in the US, but I recently let him go.

    Solopreneurs Doing $1M or More...

    GOLD! EXECUTION
Oh man it's so interesting looking back at my quotes. While this is still true, you have to remember very business is different and unique. We've surpassed $3M this year, and shooting to double next year. After going through two 3PL nightmares, I just got my own warehouse. We've got a small...

Making accessory parts that have gone obsolescent on Older Super Cars

    SIDE HUSTLE
I think there is a real demand here! Not just for super cars (though you could start there), but for all sorts of shit. There is a resurgence of older super cars with 6 Speeds (Diablos, 360s/Maranellos, etc.) that are definitely hard and expensive to find parts for. If you're taking this...

I....AM..ON..THE..INSIDEEEEE..FINALLYYY! My first fastlane idea (really want to hear from ppl who've developed apps before)

    IDEA
You need to ask yourself: how is this better than the dozens/hundreds of existing sites that do this? How are you different? If you can't clearly communicate this, you should drop the idea.

So that's 60 kg? That doesn't sound unreasonable. Contact a few freight forwarders. If you're importing from China it'll be easier to go straight from China to the US, or straight from China to the UK. Edit: didn't see Bio's reply. Air freight is definitely at a premium right now.

How will Coronavirus affect the Real Estate Market

    HOT! REAL ESTATE
Following this thread. Also interested in hearing the opinion of @SteveO as well. I'm a bit torn. I want to buy a house - not having a home that I own during COVID has been annoying. I'm looking at buying in Scottsdale, but I'm amazed at how fast homes are getting quickly snapped up. Now, if...

Has Anybody With a Degree in Economics Got Any Value From It?

    HOT!
This. But I would have probably learned most of these concepts on my own. But man, what a waste of time using Calculus and theory to calculate the optimal profit point of your product if you're operating a monopoly or oligopoly, or the sustainability of a fish hatchery. When am I going to use...

E-Commerce Brand Kick-Started By The Pandemic

    HOT! EXECUTION
You need to on just ONE channel. You don't have the marketing budget or expertise to use two. One sale on $60.00 isn't bad. Remember, you need to buy the data before you can optimize. We spent about $6k-7k at a loss just to start optimizing. Now we're seeing 7x-8x ROAS on $20k+ spend a month.
