Weekly Progress: What will you get done this week?

That new way of showing the data in the today tab, that I mentioned in my last update? Yeah. Forget that, haha. I already spent quite some time working out the details and starting to figure out how to implement it (which would've been complex and difficult, but doable), when it occurred to me...

Building an app for parents to play with kids without screens

    EXECUTION
That's actually an incredible idea! Everyone got cartons laying around waiting to be brought to the recycle bin or a recycling depot (at least that's how it's done where I live). Absolutely fantastic idea to make something valuable out of them that kids and their parents can enjoy building and...

Ah got it. That's another way to read it for sure. Technically though, at least right now, these watches only measure your pulse and other measures once in a while, some even just a few times a day.

An Apple Watch never has been only a clock. It's a smart watch. Similar to how your smart phone always has been more than a device to call people. Apple Watch has, since its early versions, been marketed as a health device as well. It has pulse meter, sleep monitoring, ecg, blood oxygen meter...

How did you interpret it? To me all it says is that your Apple Watch keeps you save at all times.

Yeah it’s the same as when you get ads for things someone in your household looked up.

There‘s quite some info missing. What device did you use for that? Yours? What WiFi network were you logged into? Yours? Where were you while doing so? At your home?

That may be for intelligence reasons, but doing so just for advertising purposes would be such a huge risk, that I doubt most companies would do it even if they could technically.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Even as a new developer there were times when I thought "that's a bit unnecarily complex, isn't it?" and asked the AI if it wouldn't also work if I'd do xyz, and it saying, "oh you're right, that's way simpler." The way I code is heavily inspired by Paul...

Also, whatever we talk near our phones is oftentimes not as interesting for marketing purposes as what we type into our phones in the browsers, social media and so on. For example there are a lot of reasons I could be talking about a wash machine that have nothing to do with me needing one or...

The last paragraph of that article is important: As noted by Reuters, $95 million is about nine hours of profit for Apple, highlighting that such lawsuits come as a business cost for big tech companies. Apple has explicitly denied wrongdoing in agreeing to settle, as well as claims that it...

Everyone's on their own path, in their own tempo. Comparing doesn't help you. You usually don't know their whole story. Let others and their success inspire you instead.

Well, instead of finetuning I came up with a different way of showing the data in the today tab of the app. This doesn't mean, though, that I'm going to throw away what I've built for this tab so far. A big part of it will move to a different view (showing the details of one of the entry types)...

Take some time to narrow down what you want in life. Like choosing 3-4 life areas that are important to you. Pick at least one goal in each area. Break that goal down into its smallest step. Take those small steps consistently. No matter if you are motivated, in doubt, worrying, or whatever. Do...

That's a fantastic description of how I work with AI to code as well. I mainly go with Claude, as I found it to be the most pleasant to work with. Both in design, in length and style of reply and in coding solutions.
