How did you escape the slowlane?

    SLOWLANE
You can "escape" when you can live on your own income. What are all your expenses? Figure out that number. That's your freedom number. When you can earn that number reliably - you can quit your job. Key word there being "can" though. If you are taking profits out to live on, you aren't using...

The ForeverJobless Incubator opens for a 2017 class

    MARKETPLACE
I don't know the price but I assume it could be anything up to 10k. If he was charging more I also genuinely wouldn't be surprised because he would be worth it. I've met Billy personally at the old Beer and Pancakes meetup for the forum and I've since talked to him privately a few times over...

Best niche to start an FBA Business ? (Beauty, Premium Beauty)

    RANT
Not really an issue. Also not really a concern in my experience.

If it has private info you can PM me. If not, I'm sure the rest of the forum would love to learn about this topic as well. Up to you.

    Ottawa Entrepreneur Event

    MEETUPS
Interesting. I'm in Ottawa and hadn't heard of this until now. Ticket price is super reasonable. The last entrepreneur event I went to in Ottawa was a disaster (albeit, it was also free which likely attracted the wrong crowd) but the quality of this looks much better and I've never not gotten...

Best niche to start an FBA Business ? (Beauty, Premium Beauty)

    RANT
You didn't really post any questions so I'm not sure what I can offer. I was in the beauty space. Had a skin cream business on FBA for about a year or so before selling it. I found it very hard (expensive) to compete with the vast amount of big-pocketed competition doing the same thing. I...

The margin is the margin for a reason

    SOURCING
This has happened to me a few times. In fact it almost looks like you stole my numbers exactly from a few products I've had/have :) Seriously, I've learned a lot about margin the hard way to this exact tune over my few years bringing in different products and trying to sell them on Amazon...

    Invest in Good Technology

    OFF-TOPIC
Sorry to derail the silliness but I think I'm going to provide actual advice now. Sorry :( I actually did just upgrade my home office PC recently. It boots up in seconds and everything I could possibly want opens up or loads basically immediately thanks to the solid state drive (SSD) I built...

    Invest in Good Technology

    OFF-TOPIC
Well... if you want to use the fancy car vs minivan analogy: Minivans: - Cost less - They are more versatile - More people are familiar with them, making maintenance easier, quicker, and cheaper - The insides can be configured in different ways according to your needs Fancy cars: - Cost...

    Invest in Good Technology

    OFF-TOPIC
I've saved years not having to learn a new operating system... so.... there :P Seriously though - as a fluent and highly proficient PC user, I can't stand Apple products. They seem overly simple and frustrating to make work with how I normally expect things to work. They seem like they would...

I have a problem with MJ DeMarco (Follow your passion gets a beatdown)

    GOLD! HOT!
I grew up as a shy, sheltered introvert. I wanted to play video games professionally. That would have totally been my passion. Know what I ended up choosing to get into? Sales. Sales is a terrible, hard, uncomfortable place for a shy introvert to be. I spent my first few years hoping nobody...

8 Eyewear: From Idea, to Launch, to Growth (And Quitting the Job)

    IDEA
Does "China" really need to be stamped on the product itself or could you add a "toe tag" style label that people could untie from the product? Maybe an easily removable sticker?

Did Kevin Hart steal from TMF?

    SOCIAL MEDIA OFF-TOPIC
Pretty sure people have been comparing life to the slow/fast lane ever since roads existed. Is it similar? Sure. But unless he was espousing the exact concepts that MJ laid out I'd call it coincidence. (Also I love the carpool addition)

Just got my first freelancing gig!

    MARKETING
This is a judgement call, really. At the end of the day, potential doesn't pay the bills. At the same time, potential has potential! Personally I would not have done this. I think it's impersonal and shoots yourself a bit in the foot. What I would do right now is call that CEO. If you...
