Zelse - Win points by getting out of the house!

    GOLD! EXECUTION
That was the research I heard as well. It was a bit counterintuitive to me, because I've never personally paid for an app from the App Store, but just because I haven't paid for something doesn't mean other people won't.

I think I'll stick with a paywall for now, but I'm open to changing back to a freemium version if sales aren't coming. In Canada, apparently we are not allowed to automatically sign up people for a newsletter. Which kind of sucks, since I have about 70 emails sitting in my database that would...

I'm not really sure what to do for the next couple weeks if it takes that long to get a DUNS number for the Google Play store. That's kind of the bottleneck, I don't know why it takes so long to create a number and send it to someone. haha I guess I could push the publicity angle a bit more...

Thanks, yeah I can see what you mean, the word "Zelse" in the logo kind of doesn't stand out from the background much. I'll take a look at that. Edit: For Saturday -> I was able to pretty much make a complete Android app version today. I'm just waiting for a DUNS number so I can apply to be on...

I finally submitted my app to the App store for Apple. Next thing to do is start working on the Google Play app, but I think that should only take a week to do. I contacted a few more newspapers, but I'm not sure if my "trading up the chain" is going to work. CBC Radio is getting back to me soon...

The future of Entrepreneurship in the age of AI (SOFTWARE IS DEAD)

    HOT! - AI -
I think as AI app creation becomes easier and easier, it will definitely eat away at the existing market. There will come a point in the next couple years I think where a person can create an immensely complicated app immediately just by giving a single prompt, and have it automatically...

I like a lot of these ideas. There's a lot of directions I could take it in, I just wanted to launch with a core idea and maybe expand outwards from there. Some of these RPG-like game elements are interesting ideas. Approval from the man himself! Thanks, as Chicago said "you're the inspiration".

I honestly think it's worth it overall to just have people pay at the start. It's a tradeoff because less people will register, but I feel like the people who actually pay are going to "respect" the product more and get more regular use out of it. I know for myself, if I pay for something I tend...

    GOLD! EXECUTION
After listening to a bunch of Youtube videos on pay systems for apps, I've decided to make a hard paywall for the app. Apparently only 2% of "freemium" apps convert users to paying, while 20% of users convert to paying when confronted with a paywall. So basically, barely any people will pay...

Thanks, I've heard the first 100 is the hardest to get. My goal after releasing on the Apple and Google Play stores is to come up with some good social media content for Tiktok to see if that moves the needle a bit. Edit: I have an interview with CBC News on Monday. I'm hoping I can get one...

I got in a small, local newspaper: https://www.stalbertgazette.com/local-news/app-turns-communities-into-a-real-life-adventure-game-12531544 I also was able to post to Reddit and got about 11k views on it. Of course this has translated to now 47 people using the app, but my hope is more...

I was thinking about how much I've changed over the last few months since reading the Millionaire Fastlane. It really creeped up on me and totally changed my outlook. In the winter of this year I was so focused on completing my accounting degree and getting an accounting job. Now I'm trying so...

No problem, I'm just starting out so I've only had one piece of media cover me, but this is what I intend to do. I would recommend the book Trust Me, I'm Lying by Ryan Holiday. He basically lays out how you can get extreme amounts of publicity by starting small and using it to work up to big...

I find it interesting, the publicity angle. Did you reach out to those news establishments or did they come to you? I would recommend that you ride the momentum from the publicity you've gotten. Send out cold emails to news agencies and tech sites with a list of links to previous stories that...

It's really dependent on the person. There's a lot of people who switch to dumb phones and don't want any of that technology. My app would not be a good fit for them. I'm going to keep sticking with this concept, but I don't mind pivoting or evolving it if people respond to different aspects better.

"How to Win Friends and Influence People" is a STUPID book

I think reality is pretty depressing for most people. They'd rather learn about a warm and fuzzy lie than the cold, hard truth. The average middle aged soccer mom working as a paralegal would rather read The Secret than TMF. Actually most people don't even read in the first place, reading is...

The Myth of the Comfort Zone that Just Won't Die!

    GOLD! MINDSET NEWSLETTER
It's funny how things that seemed absolutely horrifying or extremely stressful eventually become so mundane you don't even think about it. I think of the example of learning to drive a car, for a lot of people it starts out extremely stress-inducing, and after a year of driving they are blaring...

I find that I don't really cut out people generally, but I will slow fade people who aren't really working for me. I've had a couple friends that I've stuck with over years because they are growth-oriented and support me. There was a band I was in, where the people were cool and hip, but really...
